No...im providing the spacer. Not sure if there's a lean...ill check that out first at the dealer...if not, no spacer needed.

That's quite brave going without 4x4 on a "rig", and I mean no disrespect by that but hey if you say you don't need it, you must have already taken a 3rd gen off roading and been fine with the way it performs in 2WD.

Oh, and you will not be able to see the taco lean until it is lifted. Most, if not all 3rd gens do get the lean after lifting.

Other than that, sweet set up man! Can't wait to see some pics.

Thanks...trust me, it's a rig to me after being stuck in a Frontier 4cyl for four years and pulling a boat.

Does anyone that has ordered an '18 Taco have plans to mod it with a lift and after market products?

I test drove the '18 TRD OR Premium today and was pleased with it. The seats had a better feel than my current '17 PRO. However, the salesman told me that the dealers are being told by Toyota that they aren't to modify the 18's b/c of the TSS-P jizz. He said that they don't currently have a way to realign the camera in the windshield after it has been lifted, and currently have no plans to do it. Anyone done any research in this regard?

Interesting. I have no insight into why the camera is affected by it, but it kinda makes sense, I guess. He explained that camera is set at the factory for the stock height. I'm sure someone would have to figure it out, since the aftermarket is big for the Tacoma.

The '18 seats felt like it had better support for the lower back and the back of the legs above the knees. Not sure how I can better describe it. My '17 seats where a bit of an adjustment compared to the seats in my '08 Tundra, but these ones just felt better, much like the Tundra. I didn't feel like I was sitting on the floor boards. I'm curious to see if others have the same experience, or if I just imagined it.

Ahh ok...so it felt like you were sitting in the seats and not on them.

Tundra with TSS-p have been lifted with no side effects or problems....3 i know from tundra forums have been done by dealers, 2 with 3 inch lifts and 1 fabtech 6 inch lift. In the tacoma manual there are suggestions when to disable the system, like during offroading. If you put a load in the bed or hook a trailer up and the back of the truck squats then the camera will not point in the same direction. These systems i would think would have some effective range also due to different size vehicles (smart car to 18 wheeler).

If you want to lift an 18 there won't be any issues with the TSS. Toyota does not want you to lift any if their vehicles regardless of the year. The TSS does have an operating range and will still work. If you do have an issue with the system and take it in for warranty you will be paying for the repair, not Toyota. That also applies to a lift you install. If you end up with a powertrain issue Toyota won't cover it. If your dealer installed the lift they may be able to sneak it through but most wouldn't take the risk.

Good to know. I would think it would have a tolerance, but just reporting what this particular salesman was reporting.

Stock springs will not require a driver side spacer.

Mine did. I have 5100s with 1/4" spacer on the driver's side. It isn't noticeable, but if you measure it's still lower on the driver's side. I don't know if the springs are different on the driver and passenger sides, but there no chance I mixed them up. I did one side at a time when I installed the 5100s.
I have some OME 886s and Nitrochargers and I'm hoping that 1 trim packer on the driver's side will be enough.
