I hope someone can help shed some light on a problem that started today. I have a 08 Tacoma 4DR, 4X4, 4.0, 5speed, with a factory TRD Supercharger and about 70,000 miles. About a month ago, I put an aFe Cold Air intake on the truck with a dry element. The truck ran great for a tank of gas or two and it seemed like the acceleration was better and my mileage seemed much better too.

Today, I was taking the truck out and barely got down the road from my house when I noticed I had no response from my gas pedal. I pressed the pedal and there was zero movement of the tach. I thought for a second the vehicle stalled and then realized the needle was at 1000 rpms and there was no movement. I noticed the CEL was on too.

I made it back to my house at about 5mph and pulled the code(s). I retrieved a P2103 Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High, P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High, & P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input.

I immediately thought that the codes may have been attributed to the aFe CAI so I changed it back to the stock intake and cleared the codes. The truck started and ran normal for about a mile and then at a stop light it shuddered, the CEL came back on and there was no throttle response.

I'm going to clean the MAF in the morning and maybe the throttle body too but does anyone have any other suggestions? Your help would be appreciated

So I cleaned the MAF and the throttle body. I gotta admit the throttle body was pretty dirty. The buildup around the butterfly seemed almost like carbon. After I cleaned it I put the aFe intake back on and cleared the codes. I'm a bit worried about driving it to far cause I don't want it to go into that limp mode again. I drove it on some of the back roads and it seems okay so far but it's idling high. Any thoughts?
