New range bag, some ammo, targets... Helped buddy with acquisition of a gun safe... He's a budding firearm enthusiast... I'm the fellow sitting on the "left" shoulder whispering in his ear...

Could also be the difference in shapes of the bullets. Different shapes grab the rifling differently. Could be the length of the bullets too.

You’re 100% correct, went back to the range today and verified that it was indeed the rounds the gun didn’t like. Upon further testing it seems that the gun does not like flat base bullets, maybe something to do with slow twist rate. I have 77 pieces of brass now so it’s time to load up some handloads and see what I can manage!

I shot at 1000yds for the first time today with my 300 win mag. Absolutely had a ball. Rookie at it but I hit a 4x4 plate. Never shot that kind of distance and have not fully developed a load. I was tickled.

That’s awesome man. You will learn to love 300 WM. That caliber is an absolute animal and I have seen it do spectacular things on targets and animals alike out at 1000. I sold my last one and am currently building a 700 sendero in 300 WM. Just need glass and she’ll be ready

I am looking some glass now for my 6.5x47 lapua I built. Have a zeiss conquest 3x9 on it now which is great for hunting...not so much for any range. Really considering trying out an Athlon Argos BTR 8x34x56 FFP just to try. Buy from optics plant for 389. Seen a lot of people on a facebook page called rifle scope trader happy with them.

I’ve seen those athlon scopes and they have great reviews and you can’t beat that price. I’ve been looking at nightforce but I really can’t justify spending 1-2k on a scope. Vortex has a sweet Discount program so for $630 I think I’m set on the viper hslr 6-24x50 ffp and a turret from Kenton industries once I develop a load

Love mine too. And their customer service is great. Only negative I have is the weight on my Gen I razor 4.5-27. Its a heavy bastard at ~50oz (dont remember exactly) But its on a range rifle and not something Id be toting around so I dont mind.

My one customer service experience....had a viper 2.5-10 (not a pst...the like 300 version) that was either not holding zero or not tracking right. Sent it in and a day later they emailed me with a note and tracking number for a brand new one. Basically said the backlog was a bit high so it would take them longer than they felt was acceptable so just replaced it without even looking at it. All without asking me so i was pleased. Course i still havent even mounted that scope again and its been a good 3 years now lol

If I can have any influence on you at all, I'd go with the ATHLON HELOS SCOPE instead, they've made great improvements above the Argo‘s between glass quality and the Turrets. As I’m sure you have seen as you have read the reviews that was one of the main complaints, was how loose the turrets were, those reviews were a deterrent for me and I’m definitely glad I got the Helo‘s over the Argos.

Don’t get me wrong, the Argo‘s is a very good scope. But athalon has just made some very good improvements and it shows in their new Helos.

Around $450-500. Will see duty as a hunting rifle as well as a bench gun.

I love shooting mine. Fits my hand perfectly and it's a well balanced gun. Yours looks to be the target model. Should shoot great for you. You can always improve on the trigger. I disconnected the magazine disconnect and polished the trigger and sear. Sweet shooting pistol.

I have a Nightforce 8-32x56 I’ve been thinking of selling. Probably let it go for $700 if you’d be interested.
