A friend just left a message on my phone, “a wetback is looking for a job, do you need help?”.

What’s wrong with people? I’m assuming he meant an undocumented immigrant. I haven’t called him back yet, not sure what to say.

So yeah....kinda not cool on his part

 

I sent him the definition of “wetback”.
I also told him to send me his number, I’ll give it to my friend that just got his citizenship, he has a construction business.

Wetback is a derogatory term used in the United States to refer to foreign citizens living in the U.S., most commonly Mexicans. The word mostly targets illegal aliens in the U.S.[1]

Generally used as an ethnic slur,[2] the term was originally coined and applied only to Mexicans who entered the U.S. state of Texas from Mexico by crossing the Rio Grande, which forms the border between Texas and Mexico, presumably by swimming or wading across the river and getting wet in the process.[3]

 

I would just leave a message back, “...you mean an undocumented worker?”
