replaced DTRL's with LEDs...what did I do wrong.

So I bought the wrong LED Bulb's for my reverse light, just wasn't paying attention. After I realized my mistake I saw that they would replace the DTRL's so I installed them. Now they won't turn on as DTRL's but they do turn on with the headlights. They were just a simple bulb swap so what did I do wrong or what am I missing?

It may have something to do with the way they change from DTRL to your signals... I was looking at doing this then realized they need to be amber for turn signals. There are ones called switchbacks that solve this problem but unsure if the chip set would work for a 2014 Tacoma. One of the reviews worked for a 2008 Tacoma I believe... Can always return them if they didn't.

Did you try plugging in bulb by flipping it cause led bulb are polarity sensitive.

 

Yes, multiple times and it didn't change anything.

 

I should have bought a set of those for the tail lights.
