The 3.5 is not a dog...You should have purchased a manual - You'd be singing a totally different tune - It's a blast to play with (40,000 Miles experience)

I second this, before I got my truck, I tested an OR in automatic (no M/T trucks in my area)
Its a night and day difference. The 6AT felt pretty gutless and it lugged alot! I'm guessing that the driver controlled shifting in the manual and the different gearing make it feel like a different truck. I am happy with the 3.5 with a manual. Gets about 19-20mpg overall so not bad on that front either.

Throttle response on both suck as your foot commands gets changed into something else at times, but thats pretty much the standard for alot of drive by wire vehicles.
If someone could find a way to make the pedal to throttle body response 1:1, I would be even happier.

    ...that is all.

This sounds like Ron from "Parks and Rec". Like Lagavulin, the Manual is a classic that will always be king.

A lot of the people that really really dislike the V6 MT are the ones that put 60lb tires on the truck and 35lb wheels.

Get a wheel that is around 24lbs and a nice aggressive tire between 47-50lbs and the truck drives like a dream. Plenty of power. Put your foot into the pedal and the truck jumps to life.

I like the 3.5 engine with the 6 speed auto, its a good combo. You just have to get used to it. I had a tundra with the 5.7 engine and 6 speed auto. My tundra used to hunt for gears way more than this truck. While this truck does not have the instant acceleration that my tundra had, it really scoots when you let it loose. I really enjoy the better mpgs I'm getting now.
