So my new wife heard early on when we were dating about a few mishaps I had while racing so I have been asked (told) not to ride anymore. Something about not enough life insurance and not wanting to spend the rest of her life feeding me with a turkey baster or some such nonsense. I wanted to buy and build a newer mustang to race but she nixed that idea as well for many of the same reasons. So it has come to this... I needed a truck for work and ran across my 2000 Pre Runner at a fair price so I grabbed it. Had some upgrades already done, suspension and intake/exhaust type stuff. I ran over some tree branches at work and blew a hole in the sidewall of my Destination tire. So I started looking here for how big a tire I could get under my Pre Runner with a 3 inch lift. Along the way I learned that swapping in a 4x4 unit is really pretty easy and not very expensive. So here is the beginning of my build thread!

There's no way in hell I could stop.
Once I get my hands on an ///M the will have to pry it from my cold dead hands to get me away from it. Supercharge the Tacoma in secrecy..

    Parts list:
Tires and rims (purchased and installed with alignment mount and balance for $1500)
A340F Transmission (kicking around the idea of installing 4x4 output shaft in my unit)
Manual J shift transfer case ( Got it sort of) Part of 900 buck deal. 26 spline case so I have to decide if i'm going to also do a manual swap.
Front drive shaft (actual measurement length?)
Forward section of rear drive shaft (actual measurement length?)
4x4 trans mount (Got it) Part of 900 buck deal.
Rear 4.56 True trac. (nabbed the extra 8.4 4.10 rear end to build to a 4.56 True Trac) Part of 900 buck deal.
Front Diff. (nabbed the complete diff that will be built with 4.56 True Trac) Part of 900 buck deal.
4x4 spindles (Got em) Part of 900 buck deal.
Front half shafts (Got em) Part of 900 buck deal.
4x4 shifter assembly (Got it) Part of 900 buck deal.
Center console trim (Got it) Part of 900 buck deal.
Manual hub lock assemblies (Got em) Part of 900 buck deal.
Misc hardware (Got damn near all of it) Part of 900 buck deal.
Manual Trans.?.? (Got it) Part of 900 buck deal. Not sure if I am going to use it or not.

I'm sure I am forgetting a few things but this is a good list for gathering purposes.
