If i had to guess I’d say becasue they are light and easy to maneuver, plus if you build it right the suspension would keep it very stable

One the truck frame is a full frame unlike most trailers, it also has a full suspension under it which allows for it to not tug or bounce like a typical trailer. I wouldn’t say they are any lighter. Yes with the full full suspension you can also change things up.

Interesting. I bet having shocks helps it from bouncing around as compared to a trailer with hardly any suspension. And yeah I was looking through that trailer build, and that member said that his weighed 1040lbs when it was completely empty. Sounds about right for a smaller trailer. I bet yours weighed a bit more though. Was it a 3/4 ton truck bed or one off of a 1/2 ton?

Having shocks is amazing, I convinced my dad to put some on our fifth wheel RV and it made it so much better! It made going over bumps and dips in the road like they weren’t even there

Did he custom fab them up? Or were there already shock mounts on yalls 5th wheel? Whenever i finally get around to building myself a trailer, shocks are going to be a must for sure

We bought some mounts and had them welded on, but there are some bolt on options

Hay OP, have you started to do the tinting on your tail lights? Just curious

Ordered a blank fuse panel/relay holder from paranoid fabrications today. Will be getting that going in the next few weeks to tidy up the last of the messy wiring i have under the hood of my truck.

    heres the link: https://www.paranoidfabrications.com/products/2nd-gen-tacoma-fuse-relay-holder-blank

I dont see how you can beat $30 bucks shipped for a blank slate that you can customize to how you want to set it all up. Im impatiently awaiting it's arrival already.. :rockband:

Washed and waxed the truck to get ready for ATX coffee and cars! Also went to the SA CnC this morning. Great turnout of tacos out there. There were 9 total, but i took this picture before the last one arrived. Super stoked for tomorrow!!:taco::taco::taco:

I'm very interested in doing something similar, if not the same. Where did you get the vinyl flooring and did you install? IS it available online?

I got the flooring from @gunny1005 at Camelback Toyota parts. (It's an OEM Toyota part, they offered it as an option from the factory) And yes, I installed it myself. Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. All I did was take out the seats, and the boxes from under the seat, and then took the old carpet out and set this new vinyl flooring mat in place.

Heres a link to the area in my build thread where I had some install pics.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...and-mica-build-bs.492123/page-4#post-16252906

If you click that link I posted, and scroll down, you can get an idea as to what all you have to remove. Yours would be a little different since you have a double cab, but I'm sure it wouldn't be any harder (it wasn't difficult at all, just a little time consuming). I've already thought about doing this on my double cab as well, I wouldn't hesitate to tackle the job myself

Also, almost forgot, here is a thread I created that has a part number for double cab automatic transmission. Gunny can verify that's the one, but I've edited it recently as I figured out the vinyl flooring is transmission specific

Got my second 3.5 gallon fuelpax in the mail and mounted it up on the hitchgate. Also re-wired my piaa 520s and cleaned up more wiring up front, while adding heat shrink and electrical tape around all the connections. I had some extra rubber grommets so i cut them to size to fit in the holes on my bumper where the wires for the fogs run through. Also spent quite a bit of time figuring out how i wanted to lay out my aux fuse panel. Drilled most of the holes and got all of the wires that are going to run from the battery, fuse block and to the circuit breaker cut. I ran out of heat shrink and few other things so ill likely finish this up next weekend

Legit! I need to think about carrying extra fuel at some point. My truck likes to guzzle it
