so my 2016 SR5 came with a towing package and while moving across state lines 240 miles and trailering a 8x12 U-Haul cargo trailer, above 60 mph it really started swaying is this normal? Had to keep it below 60 which was much safer and within safety limits anyhow, just curious if anyone else has had this issue?

had a similar issue when i was moving with a uhaul trailer 13 years ago. turns out it was realllllly bad tread separation on the tires of the trailer, which ended up blowing out shortly after we noticed the swaying. I have been stranded on the side of the road because of uhaul and their shitty tires at least 3 times. Also check how you distributed the weight in the trailer. too little tongue weight can cause problems like that

Check your weight. Move things around. I like to go for a quick test drive to see how it handles

Well we only have 15 more miles so not too bad but you are probably right with the weight distribution
    Thanks

A couple of the tires on the trailer had bad tread

The sway is caused by improperly loading the trailer. Move more weight to the front of the trailer. Tongue weight should be 10-15% of total weight. It's has nothing to do with the truck.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
"Also check how you distributed the weight in the trailer. too little tongue weight can cause problems like that" AMEN TO THIS
This is super important -- many years ago Me and the dog "sparkey" were moving from SD to TX ( wife had already flown home --she was PG) -- I had to stop in NW Nebraska to totally unload/reload a trailer I had loaded wrong --dam thing almost drug me off of the highway. That's learning the hard way -- It was after dark as well

Weight distribution/tongue weight has a huge affect on towing stability:
