    Hello all,
I'm going to do a little help for a friend in the form of running for parts, etc., for his heating and cooling business. We've worked out an hourly wage, but I'm having trouble settling on a mileage reimbursement rate for gas, wear and tear, etc. Like I said, hourly is taken care of, so what should I charge for mileage? (2003 4wd, 4 door, tires need replacing soon)

I know that's the going federal reimbursement rate, but does that reflect the cost of of operation, or is it operation plus driver time?

54 cents was the federal standard in 2016, 2017 the standard is 53.5 cents a mile. I'd say 0.54 would be fair.

Driver is usually paid for driving, so, standard hourly rate with mileage on top of that.
