Us vs CANADA DRL Mod

I have looked for a answer for this problem and did not find the information needed.

Basically I live in Canada, have a truck from Phoenix. Currently it has been set up to have the low beams function when the trucks on regardless of where the switch is unless high beams are on. I would like to have it set up like trucks in Canada where the turn/Hazard signals light up when lights are not on.

I did see one thread where it discussed ordering different relays/jumpers, and also disconnecting my security system which I have also never had since I bought the truck so plan on going through the steps in that thread to troubleshoot that issue and hopefully compare part numbers.


Does anyone have a solution/suggestion to this ? It's not a huge deal but it would be nice to be putting hours on the lights that are not needed.

Hi Skolzi, how did you get the truck set up so that the low beams are always on? I would like to do this just to get through RIV inspection. I am hoping to do it without splicing any of the existing wiring.

 

Hi Skolzi, I did the same when I bought my '08 from the States in 2010. Dealer rigged it to pass safety so the low beams were always on. I didn't much care for that and wanted the factory DRLs. I followed this thread (I believe) and ordered the required relays from the local dealership. I hope that this is helpful to you.
