    Some really cool shit
I'll be in Carmel for Thanksgiving so probably won't make it, either. Let me know when you go to Plumas. We usually cut our own in Castro Valley. East Bay Regional Parks has Doug Firs growing in a valley off Redwood Road. They've been a bit puny lately. Not letting them grow enough.

Bump with picture form last year when the truck was stock for attention. A day in the mountains is always better even if it requires lots of driving.
@RyanPowell You bringing your shotgun? I will have a box of clays.

Already cut my tree yesterday but maybe might come out and pull out my shotguns. Just moved from Texas so I have an itch to shoot shit. But I am in the Bay Area so gotta think about this.

    TRIP RESCHEDULED

Due to the near three quarters of an inch of rain and a few people not being able to make it we are rescheduling for next Sunday the 3rd of December.

all other plans remain the same. I have edited the original post.

Sorry to have missed the group trip... Couldn't make it this weekend. Hope to meet people on some other adventure. Got up there today and got some work done on our place down by the lake then rallied up to the top of Hull to find a tree! New Tacoma first time engaging 4WD (and getting new tires in the dirt for that matter), and it was glorious. I LOVE the way it handles offroad, and how the suspension feels compared to my old truck. I had the warm and fuzzies all day.

    1) you guys will love the trip into Pillsbury... The County road was half grated (they were lunch breaking next to the parked equipment at the top of the hill) when I went in, and was done by the time I headed home. Like fresh powder - 4H "rally racing" on the way out! Do keep in mind it's only the Lake County portion. The beginning short Mendocino County section (which is the best section by far in summer) had some big hidden potholes that would hurt if you're cruising with any speed.

    2) Saw two guys near the top of Hull heading down in Jeeps with two trees, but no one else the whole day. Road up Hull was surprisingly getting dry and was actually a bit dusty in spots. Just a touch of snow left at the very top and in the shade past the peak.

    3) Got a good tree I think, but I'm pretty sure there are a few more out there for y'all! :D

Good luck this weekend! And keep on the lookout for the Elk herd down on the flats... Only thing slowing me down all day!IMG_9262.jpg IMG_9283.jpg IMG_9285-2.jpg IMG_9291.jpg

There was a large group of Tacomas up there this weekend (12-9-17) cutting trees, I think one of them said they were part of a bay area club called expedition 365? Does anyone have contact info for anyone in that group?
