    I've been using TinkerCad as it is free, but am limited by it's simplicity. Is there any other free programs you can suggest that would allow me a little more creativity?

    To more fully answer the question of free cad software: I’m not really up on the CAD options out there. I know that sketchup is great for personal stuff at home but has very little application in the professional world. The file types you can generate just don’t seem to be that helpful. That’s my take on it from a few years ago. Autodesk has some interesting stuff and may have some free trial period. I know there are several other CAD type programs out there that are free but they all seem extremely limited or complicated to use. I spend all of my CAD time in Solidworks and I haven’t strayed from that.

    Okay, after spending the last hour researching Solidworks and watching many videos, I am convinced this is WAY more then I would ever use. With that said I am definitely getting it, lol :D Now to try and find where to buy it at. Every place I found wants me to send out for a quote...:annoyed:

    I don’t have my own license...too spendy! I have access to 2014-2017 at work. If I was doing a lot of freelance work, I’d buy a license for myself but that’s not my situation right now.

    Just to remind everyone what this thread is all about... (I’m looking at you Overkill07) :boink:

    I sanded the previously gooped parts of the camper. Came out pretty smooth! Doesn’t look like it here but it’s smooth to a bare hand and that’s smooth enough for me.

    Then I coated almost all of the rest of the camper. Still need to sand it.

    This process smooths out imperfections, and while doing so, also fills in voids. I noticed, when glassing, that I’d get small bubbles in some areas where, I’m assuming, there is a tiny void (pinhole) that goes all the way through the glass to the core. Now that I’m covering the entire surface, I’m seeing tons of these bubbles. Because I’d like to avoid as many issues as possible when painting, I’ll likely have to go over the camper two or three times with this fairing compound in an effort to seal all of these pinholes. I think that’s the right way to do it, anyway. Make it as sealed as possible before any paint at all. We’ll see.

    Pin holes in resin are usually cased by air while it dries out. Very common, get your glass work done 100% and then go over the entire surface with a liquid type polyester putty, super thin skim coat, and lightly sand it off.
