I've been checking this thread every other day or so for an update. How are you guys getting yours? .

 

It's all timing. Link goes live. Mod sometimes randomly mentions it in other posts. Luck.

 

I just happen to get lucky, logged on a few minutes after the purchase button went live.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind paying for a backordered item. Even if I paid and had to wait over a month.

 

I read somewhere that he didn't want to do that for some reason.

 

+1 for the preorder. Maybe that would help you gauge demand for this product, which right now I assume is unknown? Like, if you have 500 preorders, you might be able to justify hiring some help? If you have 40 orders, I am sure we are happy to wait a bit to get the mod. I dunno.

Personally, I think the world needs one ECT Mod for every 3rd Gen Tacoma ever sold, but that’s just my opinion.

I could have sworn the cig lighter wires were the same color. Am I not remembering that correctly and/or was it just dark and they looked the same.

I ended up attaching my switch pro wiring using the add a fuse and it made the fuse box too busy. Going to go the cig lighter route but I already rerouted those wires to the glove box. Arg.

 

Is there a video of tapping into it behind the cig lighter? If there is I must have missed it. If done that way, there's no need to alter the fuse cover, correct?

 

Correct. Sorry, I don't have a video for that. But it's very straight forward; reach in and unhook the cig connector. Pull back the black sheathing and tap the purple wire. Connect ECT power wire to the tap. Re connect cig connector.
