The tune was tested and developed on the dyno on a MT vehicle. The issue we are running into is a small percentage of these trucks have a different calibration ID that has completely different mapping. initially everything was developed on a AT and ported over

It is hard to go to the drawing board and internally develop a tune dedicated to this CAL ID when we have only seen 3 trucks with it out of all of them so far.

Regardless, this is a new platform, new ECU and it is very complex. There will be new developments, new updates and such. I have offered a few people to test out some things if they would like to, but it's not a mass test.

Well I do look forward to a more final version of the product, hoping to see some of the rev hang taken care of as part of it and the increased torque sounds promising since the truck struggles to keep pace in the mountains.

There is definitely an increase in torque from idle to-2500 rpm on 1.03. Well, up and beyond that range as well, but the truck starts to really take off around there and so its less an issue. The engine is much smoother at lower rpm under load, say 35 mph in 5th gear. You CAN accelerate on flat ground from that if you wish, it won't be fast, but it won't act like it doesn't want to do it. I was able to drive a road the other day that's pretty windy, with turns down to 20mph, and some inclines following, and never shift out of 4th gear.

I don't know what people's expectations for low end torque are, but for me I'm more than satisfied with the improvements over stock. I should try and drive a 4.0 manual truck one of these days just to see... but for now I can't see it being that much more impressive.

EDIT: Rev hang still "hanging" around right now... I also would like to see that gone.

Yes I just received mine, installed it and gave it a very quick test run. It didn't misfire, knock, ping, or exhibit any other sorts of odd ignition behavior so that's a win! It also felt as good or better than what I was running before (1.02something) save for one big lurch in the parking lot RIGHT after loading the tune. Other than that one lurch it felt better pretty much everywhere. Seemed a little easier and more predictable to launch into gear and run through other gears but time will tell. What say you @Ares32 @MOC221_

Yeah I had that lurch too, and a couple of other smaller ones after that - but it settled down with some miles. One big take away is that the dangerous off the line bog is gone. As I said before, all smiles here :)

Oh, and it's nice that 2nd is usable is parking lots now..

Test tune loaded, about 30 miles on it. All I can say is damn! No limp, knock, surging etc. Shit is like damn butter! Not one issue whatsoever! Thanks Matt!

Yep, pretty sweet for a "test" tune. The best part is I can just drive the fucking thing normally, the way I was taught to drive a M/T. No more bullshit mental gymnastics just to pull off a rev-matched downshift!

I have about 200 miles on 1.03 now....

The low end torque I believe is right about what my 2nd gen 4.0 was (also manual). My butt dyno is pleased. The engine is extremely smooth from idle up to redline. With 1.02 It sounded like it was breaking up and just not in a happy place.

I did notice today though that the throttle response seemed a bit dead. I didn't notice it immediately after loading the tune. Compared to the video Matt posted, I have a 0.2-0.5s delay from bliping the throttle to revs. picking up. I don't have data to back it up, but I will see if I can take a log and get a good number.

Yes, all three of us have a working tune now, and it's continuing to perform.
