True that. Anywhere much. It's just perspective.

I just looked those two places up, they are now valued at a total of 360k. For starter or empty nest homes, not bad.

    Enjoy the ride.

For what it’s worth, I’m frugal about everything but my truck. I spent 20 years in the military and A LOT of time in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.... Mt trucks are my thing. I love them. I have a nice home and a nice truck. I don’t eat out, I don’t go to movies, I don’t belong to a gym. My cable/internet bill is 90.00 a month.

My wife looks at it this way. Quote: “Yes, 49,000.00 is a lot for a truck, but at least that’s your interest. I’m glad you’re not in to Corvettes and Porche’s.”

Means "subbed", as in "Subscribed". I don't want to miss anything! FWIW, TW should just have a button for this...

Was being a smart a--, but was an unnecessary comment that I have since deleted.

I'm in real estate and not everything we show is a home or property on paved streets. And I have a cabin in rural colorado with lots of gnarly roads and trails near by.

So this truck will sometimes be used other than as a highway driver. But yes, it is probably over kill.

And as to the $$ i agree that it is crazy how even in just the last 10 to 20 years how much the price of vehicles has sky rocketed.

When we sold our ford dealership two years ago my 87 year old dad, who was still at work everyday, would cringe every time a $70k - $100k super duty diesel would arrive on the lot and he never thought he would ever see a $70,000 f150 either, but he did before we sold.

He would totally understand what you are saying about your original home prices, as the home my siblings and I for a short while were raised in, cost my parents less than this truck is priced. A lot of our long time customers said exactly what you did when purchasing their new vehicles, too.

I don't know how people are going to be able to continue to buy new vehicles in the future if they continue to increase in price at the rate that they are currently rising. And I will feel sorry for those in the future buying these new vehicles, second hand, with all their expensive electronics to fix when their warranties have expired as the repair bills will be enormous.

As to why a past ford dealer is buying a toyota... ford doesn't have a midsize truck at the moment and I don't need or want a full size and the Toyota dealer here in my home town has been a good friend for years. Was pleased to do business with him.

If the ranger when it finally comes out, and has been around a year or two, is a better option then, maybe I'll go back to a ford. But in the mean time, I hope to be one of the many enjoying their tacoma truck.

You own a Tacoma, but would consider trading it in on Ford Ranger?

That’s like trading Tom Brady for Ryan Leaf.

Won't have it until mid December. My 16 had too many problems and was traded off after 6 months, hence wtg two model years to try again. If this winds up being a great truck, I probably wouldn't move to something else.

But as a life long Ford person, as my family had the dealership here for 97 years, I must admit I'm intrigued by the prospects of a ranger raptor.

So i was just being honest in my comments. But that's a few years off and I may like this truck enough to not want to do anything else.[hope this is the case] But a Tacoma or Ranger would be all I'd consider in the future, as I feel until ford dropped the ranger a few years back that these two have always been the best options in the small to mid size truck category. I don't see that changing once Ford reenters this mkt. Ive never liked the frontier and i have never thought much of General Motors trucks, but again this is just an opinion.

I am also hopeful that the reentry of the Ranger causes Toyota to enhance the Tacoma going forward. I won't lie, paying $40k plus and not having a truly adjustable or power seat kinda sucks, especially after back surgery, but to me the Tacoma is the only option is consider in this mkt at this time. Plus the Toyota dealer here is a great friend.
