Yeah, sorry, we kinda skipped over the "must be in low range" thing, glad that helped!

But as for the grey wire mod thing, I personally don't see the point when you already have 4wd. The mod is great for pre-runners who don't have 4wd, and for people who like doing epic donuts or drag race, but there really isn't a time I've encountered off road where a locked rear end is more advantageous than just 4wd.

An open diff 4wd will almost always have more traction than a locked 2wd. I say "almost" only because I'm sure someone will chime in with that 1 in a million time where it helps, I just haven't ever encountered it.

It's a pretty easy mod, so it's not like you're loosing a ton of time/expense to doing it, it's just not that useful, IMO.

 

The pre-runners do not need the gray wire mod.

I meant that the grey wire mod is meant to duplicate the ability to engage the locker in 2wd LIKE a pre-runner.
