TRD Pro Fox Suspension Specs?

Just in case can anyone take an array of pictures of their TRD Pro fox coilovers?

 

Two different service techs and two different part stores make me think it's true that's it's bottom of the line. As I bought the extended travel remote Resi Ave compression adjustment. Asked about the factory pro stuff, all four said it's low end. And like @dYL0n said... Why would Toyota put a high end set up on it? I doubt it has internal bypass or anything. Pro is expensive but not expensive enough to be top of the line.

Would love to hear the specs though and be proven wrong. But I'm doubtful it's anywhere close to their top of the line stuff. At most intermediate.

 

The shocks are internall bypass, it's listed all over the internet.

The springs are made by eibach but do not have an eibach part number I have seen .

Lol... be that as it may my point stands.

Fox offers 2.0 and 2.5 series shocks for the Tacoma. They do make 3.0s but not for the Tacoma afaik.
So going on that alone the TRD Pro Fox's are 2.5s front and rear. Top of the line in terms of shock diameter... impossible to call that "bottom of the barrel" as was originally said.

Furthermore Fox offers remote reservoirs front and rear on both their 2.0s and 2.5s.
The TRD Pro has remote resi's in the back but it does not upfront. Again... impossible to call that "bottom of the barrel" as was originally said.

The only other option Fox offers on Tacoma coilovers is the compression adjusters which the TRD Pro does not have. So it's true that the TRD Pro Fox suspension is not the best you can get from Fox but I never said it was. I merely said it's near the top of their offerings in contrast to "bottom of the barrel" which is true.

 

Doesn't have the extended travel either though.
Or height adjustment.

 

Exactly. it's just a marketing scheme to sell TRD PROs to bros!

So far I haven't seen a very descriptive review of how the pro suspension actually performs/rides compared to a stock trd off road. Maybe the Op can chime in?

 

These are proprietary components manufactured for an automobile manufacturer. The people at Fox know, but are not at liberty to discuss. To get most of the answers you are searching for you should just pull one, remove the coil spring and then document your results. Sharing them here for others who are searching for the same would be greatly appreciated.

The spring rate is the one that I doubt you will ever get the answer to as Eibach - the source that Fox uses for coil springs - does not discuss valving with consumers.

Eibach will likely tell you about springs they sell to consumers. In fact I would bet they do... building up a track car I wanna know my spring rates... may want to swap out springs for different tracks and conditions.

For an OEM part, Eibach likely has a gag clause from Toyota same with Fox.

They are proprietary = top secret my dick is bigger but you cant see it unless you buy...then it turns out that its in fact smaller! Just sayin...

 

I'd assume so as well. I phrased it as "trd pro owner with these fox coilovers put on a heavier bumper and needs to know the spring rate and size in order to order the correct size and rate new springs" (paraphrasing) but you get the jist. I got the one reply looking for pictures and he said he'd have to do some leg work to figure it out but we shall see...

I did find a thread for a Tundra TRD Pro with bilsteins, he took his apart and had SDHQ measure the spring rate. Measured 621#

 

Does anyone know the extended length of the TRD Pro rear shocks?

FOX TRD Pro Absorber Information

From what I know they are FOX components tuned in house by Toyota. They are pretty great compared to other (dare I say all) OEM absorbers.

Extended Length
Front: 555mm
Rear: 595mm

Collapsed Length
Front: 443mm
Rear: 357mm

Stroke
Front: 112mm
Rear: 238mm

Shaft Diameter
Front: 22.2mm
Rear: 22.2mm

 

Probably as close to non-fox stock suspensions as possible. The only difference is that the Pro likely has a higher spring rate maybe 650# which gives it its faux lift.
