Can a Tundra LSD be installed, and be compatible to an E-Locker equipped Taco rear? I have the E-Locker, used it maybe three times, but an LSD for street use, is sure intriguing!

Auburn gear makes an elocker that is also a limited slip when unlocked. I think it is only for Dana, Ford, and GM axles.

I found quite a bit of situations offroad where open is better. So I think the ARB or a eaton/harrop will still be more popular.

    Hi CoachTaco--
A great addition to the Prerunner. Harrops are my choice for my own personnel 01 Tacoma. I will soon have them front and rear.

It's 1395 thru https://www.cruiserbrothers.com/product/harrop-elocker-a13457/ and knock 100 off if you make your decision before November runs out. Roughly 200 for my labor and roughly 55 for fedex ground to CA and BAM!!!! you can have an awesome selectable elocker ;)

A Spartan is easier to install than a LR as info.

They both will pop and bang some when you are making tight turns in parking lots. Having an auto makes it less noticeable than if you had a manual since it opens up when you are coasting with no load on the drivetrain. I DD’ed one for a bunch of miles and was totally fine with it.

Snowy-Thanks for the info- Spartan doesn't make a locker to fit my '02 rear diff. so I'm pretty much having to use the Powertrax Lockright unit.

I’ll be damned. Never knew Spartan didn’t make one for the 8.4. I had one in my 8” and I have one in my 9.5” now.

I don’t think the LR is weaker or anything like that, just a little trickier to install with the pins.

Spartan has one for the '90's Tacoma's (8") but Not the 8.4" NON trd w/ 30 splines - Same for Grizzly, Aussie , etc,. -Only one I've been able to find is the PT Lockright

Some people call it the 8.25....some the 8.4....some call it the T100 diff. It's all the same but 8.4 is the most common. If your 04 Taco does not have the elocker option then you have the 8.4 diff....a darn good diff....but with limited cheap locker options. ZUK

powertrax no-slip is a much better option for a daily.

I did Eaton LSD, then 4x4 conversion. Very capable. Now, I’m considering a front eLocker.
