    I also have an aluminum IFS skid and use a 2x4, 4x4, or 4x6 (whatever I have available) to spread the load out and place more towards the front of the skid.

    Placed my order yesterday for a 3rd gen steel front bumper! Bumper was in stock so I'm hoping to have it soon!

    Also, it was a pleasant surprise to be contacted by the one and only Satin @ pelfreybilt immediately after my order. Rarely do you get a personalized message when purchasing a product, pelfreybilt makes you feel like part of the family.

    Even before receiving my bumper I'd highly encourage anyone on the fence to put an order in, especially while the sale is going on!

    I almost went aluminum but knew that if I ever dropped the truck and one of them got bent past the point of no return, I'd be punching myself in the dick repeatedly the entire drive home. I heard that most guys never even touch the gas skid so thats why I held off for now. Maybe some day and if I do, it'll probably be aluminum lol

    I'm looking at the (3rd gen) rock sliders on the pelfreybilt website and I have three questions:

    What are "top plates"?
    Does anybody have a link to an install guide on these?
    Can someone post some pictures of these post install?

    Top plates (instead if exposed tubing). This is the kind i would be getting, because I am afraid my dog would get stuck in the tubes on a regular one and break his legs.

    Thanks, that was what I was looking for. I figured thats what the top plates were but I just wanted to be sure. I was going to go with no top plates but the dog thing is a good point as I too have a dog. I'll be ordering a set of these soon I think.

    Does anybody have some pictures of these sliders post install?
