Wow that is crazy. I have had nothing but good experience with Toyota of McKinney. Doug is my service rep and I have never had a problem. All I have had is oil changes though and they have been quick. I was told Monday, Friday, and Saturday dealership is crazy packed though.

That dude month in and month out writes the most Service tickets. He makes north of 100k a year easily, and is actually the Toyota Corporate account Service Advisor for when they bring all of the corporate cars in.

i just noticed they replaced my cabin air filter and engine air filter under "extended warranty". I know those only cost about $10 each but that is a good freebie I wasn't expecting.

I would not expect that. I know Subaru was charging me ~$180 for cabin air filter and ~$80 for engine air filter even before regular warranty ran out. Finally I got slightly less stupid and started doing it myself.

I have all of my services performed at Freeman Toyota in Bedford. I book ahead of time for an early morning appointment. They have always performed the service quickly, correctly, while I wait. Stay away from the Toyota of Grapevine location....everyone I know that has purchased a car there or had is serviced is greatly disappointed!

I don't know how many votes Tandem received, but that's my first choice. I found them after I had installed a few things. I've used Toyota of Dallas and that usually goes well...there was the time they ripped my antenna off in the carwash...but they did a great job on the supercharger and the lift. I don't trust Toyota of Grapevine anymore; only buy parts there.

im in warranty at 21k now so i use Toyota of Denton for anything warranty-related, but luckily i haven't had to use the warranty so far, only Toyota Care.

i'm looking for an independent tech with his own shop, his own hands, someone who can get to know your vehicle and you... anyone got any recs for that? i am still using my old VW tech for my Tacoma when i do non-warranty (mod/fluid change) stuff. i'm twisting his arm to do it since he's rather stick with the Germans. anyone know a solid independent Toyota man around DFW, north part preferred?

Tandem is the go to for mods, they don't tend to do much service type stuff

Another vote for Tandem. Called Pablo. Described my vibration. He rode with me, crawled under the truck, moved my carrier bearing and driver’s side front axle and then said, “I had already ordered the parts.”

@KarlTheToyotaGuy ive called a couple dealers here and theyve quoted $259 for toyota ws fluid transmission flush with the machine(219 after internet/website discount). Does this price seem fair? I have just over 80,000 miles and it likely not been changed.

Also, since everyone has a phone nowadays, is it unreasonable to ask that the mechanics take pics as they go when doing the work?
