Excellent write up! Thank you. There is a junk yard close by and these are throw away items for them. I have a friend that pulls computers out of cars, pays the junk yard $5.00, sells them to a company that refurbish them and then the company sells them to parts stores such as Napa, Auto Zone, advanced and ORiley. Interesting, he gets $55 each, regardless of computer. I will get one of these and attempt to solder one myself (for my personal use) and will post the results.

Hey everyone, i've looked around the site and don't see my specific question (I may have just missed it though). If i put a set of Bilstein 5100 coilovers on the front and 5125s on the rear while the truck is still under factory warranty, will it void the warranty? I want to say its a no-brainer, but they are Bilsteins.... so... Anybody know? I have just about 9k left on the factory warranty.

    No it wont.

Edit: That's like someone saying putting different tires on voids warranty. It's a wear item.

The fact that they're bilstein has nothing to do with it. If you upgrade your suspension, those aftermarket components won't be covered under warranty if they fail (obviously). The dealership can also deny warranty work as they see fit if they believe your aftermarket suspension was the cause of another issue i.e. your upper control arms breaking, whereas if your radio fails, it'll be covered no questions asked. It's at the dealers discretion and some are nicer than others.

What would everyone say is a fair price to install? Don't really have the time to do it myself. Toyota quoted me $650+ and 5 hours...

Don't they have to actually prove the aftermarket parts caused the problem in order to void the warrantee?

Nope, not at all. And it's deny warranty work, not void warranty. There's something called the Magnuson-Moss warranty act, which states they need to prove your aftermarket parts caused the failure of XYZ, but they don't need to do that every time. That only applies if you want to take them to court, and then you start throwing the Magnuson moss act around.

Thanks for the clarification. I suppose during the conversation with the dealership you could tell them you are aware of the act and see if that inspires more consideration.

It definitely could! I have read of that happening with some members on here. It really comes down to how the dealership handles things, as some are nice and some are assholes. It's a total toss up.

    Hey guys,

I just finished installing a 3" lift kit on my truck! now i'm onto installing wheel spacers and bigger tires. If anyone is interested in how to install these at home, I detailed everything from the unboxing of the kits to the Torque specs and steps to the installation. I'm not going to lie, the provided instructions were pretty shitty.

So here are the links of the youtube vid for the installation:

    Unboxing:
    https://youtu.be/0_gmWIEf1TM

    Installation part 1
    https://youtu.be/eiRAWIKURRI

    Installation part 2
    https://youtu.be/j2aIL13H0Zg

If you have any specific installation questions let me know. This whole thing should be about ~5 hours to install.

Good video's, did you experience any vibrations and if so, how did you fix them?
