I just picked up my 2015 TRD PRO from the mechanic after having it lifted and I love it! I installed the ToyTec 1/2" Front Top Plate Spacer Kit in the front and the ToyTec Progressive 3 Leaf Add A Leaf Pack in the rear with the overload removed. I love the look and it seems to ride pretty much the same.

The only little issue is that now I feel a very minor shutter or vibration from the rear upon slow take-off from a stop. I don't feel it if I floor it from a stop,[IMG] [IMG] just from a slow take-off from a stop. Anyone else have this issue? A buddy of mine told me I needed to drop the carrier bearing so I ordered the ToyTec carrier bearing drop kit and the solid steel axle degree shims. I'll have these installed once I receive them and hopefully that will help or eliminate the shutter/vibration. Will these eliminate the shuttering/vibration or do I need to do something else?? Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks!

Here's the before and after lift photos.....

Have you measured your driveline angles? That's the place to start.

^^^This. Don’t just start throwing parts at it; figure out which joint is not aligned correctly.

No I haven't .....I watched a video on how the check the driveline geometry but honesty I felt real dumb after watching it. I'm hoping my mechanic can figure it out and let me know. After he does that he can decide if I need the carrier barrier drop and/or the axle shims......both of which I already ordered.

Keep in mind truck must be on ground when measuring . I know its a pain but if you put the truck on the hoist , your drive line angles increase because the suspension is no longer under load .

My 2006 and my sons 2010 both did it after our lift, I installed a 1/8 shim under the center carrier took most of it away. Just my experience with it I hope you have success..

Lifted mine 3" with NO diff drop and I don't have any vibrations. There is a lot of debate around the diff drop. Most experienced Taco Builders I've talked to, including @Pelfreybilt say to not install it. For what's it's worth....

OP. I just went through the same thing. Only I did a 1in. Block. Had that same shudder that you have. I did the C B drop bracket with no luck. I didn't want to do axel shims because of the possibility of axel wrap. So after a year of dealing with it I took the blocks out and back to stock. As mentioned earlier these trucks don't Luke to be lifted which really sucks! Another reason I miss my 2 Gen.

Edit : By the way your Truck dos look pretty sweet.

The amount a shim would contribute to axle wrap would be negligible compared to a block.

To the OP, figure out where the angles are and adjust them correctly. There’s plenty of length in the rear driveshaft to get the proper u joint angles.

Not a whole lot of lift, but enough too cause you a LOT of headache and expense trying too fix the problem you now have.Very nice truck by the way.

Respectfully, realigning u joints by dropping a carrier bearing and/or installing shims under a leaf pack is by no means a lot of effort or difficult. Swapping struts and leaf springs is as easy as it gets to do the work and to address any subsequent problems that arise from messing with the original design/engineering.
