2012 Tacoma. Drivers door will not unlock with the key fob or the door switch. It will unlock with the key.

The passenger door is works fine.

I can hear a clicking sound under the dash when I click the fob. Any thoughts?? Thanks for the help.

Thanks Crodell6. Also, I did see a mouse nest in the engine. Wonder if that would have something to do with it (chewed wire)??

Another thing I forgot to mention. The drivers door WILL lock with the key fob.

Could it still be the actuator??

I had this problem. Took the actuator out and took it apart for a little cleaning and grease and has been perfect for a few years now.

Mine has been acting up randomly for a few months now, thinking about trying to solve it. It's been getting more and more common. Not a huge deal to me, but I'd like to look into it before it's permanently an issue.

Had this happen with my back passenger door. Couple bucks on ebay for a new lil actuator motor and an hour of my time to disassemble replace and reassemble and all was good as new.

try popping off the little panel on the armrest and see if it’s still connected. Same thing happened to me a while back and it turned out the connector popped off the actuator

Put your hand on the door close to the latch. Sometimes you can feel the actuator trying to move a little.

If all the other door locks respond to the fob then it's probably a actuator
