    Hey TW,

Recently had my engine swapped and had worked great for the last couople of weeks. I was dringing for maybe 50 minutes on the highway when I notcied it stalling when trying to accelerate past 35/40mph. However, the rpm's would still increase.

I spoke with the mechanic who swapped the engine and he thinks it's a bad EFI WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Two questions, is this sensor the same as a Coolant temperature sensor? Also, where could I find the Water Temperature Sensor in order to replace?

Thanks a bunch and Happy Thanksgiving!

One basic question, as you probably checked already:

-how's the tranny fluid level and color?

I know on older yota, bad tps can cause transmission to act up. A clogged filter can also cause your rpm to ride high under light load and shift harder then usual as well.

If the water temp sensor ( coolant sensor ) was bad there should be a code stored in computer memory .
Any check engine lights ? Checking for codes is the first place to look . Its a computer controlled engine . See what the computer says by scanning .
I beleive that when a coolonat sensor begins to fail , the computer in your truck will improvise by saying its 25 below zero .
You will go through all kinds of fuel and the torque converter clutch as well as 4th gear will be disabled
Lower in this link , you should be able to find a manual for your truck showing you all the sensors .
