WHY would you wanna take the flares off of the second gen????

6 inch lift plus add a leaf and eibach coil springs. 315-75-16 destination MT

 

My 33" tires ripped my front fender flares off while bombing around Glamis a few years ago. I look at it like this, "whatever gets ripped off while wheeling, it must be in the way and therefore its not going back on".
Again, Its personal preference.

I took my front ones off when I put 285's on, I'm running spacers as of late too so it would have made it a bitch to keep them on a trim the crap out of them. IMO from the pics you've posted it just stands out more with a light colored truck, I don't mind the look at all and nobody has said to me nice truck but it looks weird with no front fender flares...

 

If those holes weren’t there, I actually think these trucks look better without the flares.

If the fender was completely straight I'd say it definitely needs the added flare, but there's already some decent body lines in it

 

I get that as well, granted I prefer the glass look myself.

 

I agree here. They are priced good too, the cost of painting them is the only reason I haven’t considered them.. yet. One day maybe.

Exactly what I was thinking as I typed that. I put a rear bumper on my truck that came “primered” black, and it looks great on my black truck with no paint added.

 

Trim, cut, pinch, beat, BFH, remove, replace, who cares, just wheel.

To fit 35's on a 3 inch lift you have to cut 2-3 inches off the fender. so you have to cut the flares too or remove them.
I will be doing this soon

i took mine off for 2 reasons, 1st the tires looked so much wider, it almost looked like i had spacers on, it looked really nice. 2nd reason was when i had the stock bumper the front fender flares actually came below the bumper and killed like 2 inches of clearance, so by removing it i got like 2-3 inches of clearance. and for the holes i just filled it with those black push clips that hold together plastic parts on cars. it looks great. my buddy but round stainless bots but the truck looked like a dyke after that so i went with my method.

I kinda like mine without the flares, but I am gonna trim them and put them back on. Mostly cause it flings too much mud and rocks without. lol My truck DGAF if you like her or not.
