It’s a lot of work to get the buck out of meat. I got enough trophies on the wall. I want meat now.

The fridge is dead. I saved what I could. Now everything else goes in the trash...good way to clean out the fridge.

Happy belated birthday @TownvilleTim and hope things are going well with the little one.

Good morning and welcome to the other S day on the pill container.

Slow day so far and I don't feel like doing squat. Have 2 friends a retired AF pilot and ret. Navy Capt. that will be in town Friday. Because grand kids. And they want to get together for a meal and a couple of drinks. The conversation somehow turned to lets have Mike cook the steaks and they will bring the wine. I don't feel like cleaning house but better get my ass in gear.

With that heat in Texas I am thinking your boots may be like my boots in the Engineroom and Boilroom on ships. They rot from the inside out from sweat. Even if they don't if you can swing it 2 pair of boots rotated each day will last longer than 3 boots worn everyday one at a time until they wear out. Took me awhile to figure that out, but it is true. Cost more up front, but less money in the long run. Of course I now have a lot more than 2 pair boots :anonymous:

Clean them before you treat them. Otherwise your just putting wax over dirt and embed it into the leather. I've tried lots of products and finally settled on Obenauf’s Heavy Duty Leather Preservative but first clean them with Fiebing’s glycerine saddle soap and let them dry for at least 2 days first. Naturally without any heat but plenty of air around them.

I learned this from Russell Moccasin Boots when I commissioned them to build me a custom pair of Grand Slam Sheep Hunters. They have a good article on leather care on their website.

Someone earlier mentioned that the product doesn't matter as much as long as you do something with them. I agree and will add keep the leather clean. Had a pair of Herman Survivors from the 70's (the real ones) that I would bake in the oven with mink oil on them. Didn't care for the hard white lug soles they were slippery on ice and dangerous do didn't wear them all that much. Gave them away a few years ago and the leather looked like new.

Hope you get some heat soon instead of having to make your own. Damn willow tree here is the last to drop and already covered up everything I have done with those narrow PITA small leaves. White oaks have already dropped, finally.

I have the Rigid system like that in the garage, and don't need to use it everyday for a living. And store my cordless tools in the bottom. And yes it is a pain taking off the boxes on top to get to them. I do like it weather proof and I know where everything is. And can roll it around to where ever I need it. But it is a pain because I use the cordless tools the most.

Northern Potter/Tioga Metro area... Thanks for the smile this early in the morning.

Thanks Mike. Yea I scrub them clean and let them dry good. I have built up a good stash. Next pair comes Tuesday iirc. That make 3 pairs back up.
    When’s your mattress arriving?

    You get that pup yet?
