Has anyone tried to install 2015 drivers side a-pillar trim & grab handle on a 2016 Tacoma?

    Post #2 (2015 is a Gen 2 FYI):

Not sure about a Gen 2 working but the mounts are there, the lower one doesn’t have a threaded nut however so you would have to install a pem nut.

I am sure it will physically fit after you add a Nut-Sert, only issue I can think of is that the 2nd Gens were Grey instead of Black.

The plastic a-pillar trim is a completely different shape where it meets the dash. It won't fit.

Don't think so... I believe they have the Helix in other countries.

Dang how did I miss this thread??

I tried a driver’s side door pillar trim from a 2015, and it is not a good match, as others have said.

In addition, the gray color from 2015 is also not a match.

And, although my measurements may be off, I believe the upper/lower mounting holes for the pre-2016’s is a different length from the two holes in the 2016+ door pillar. Seemed that way to me anyways.

Looks like a factory-style grab handle for the 2016+ is not gonna happen.
