Sorry if this is the wrong forum, it seemed the closest fit to me!

I do a lot of fishing and have gear inside my cab and kayak locked in the back. Someone tried taking the starbit off the ring i was using to lock it down which made me think its time to go ahead and upgrade my alarm. Im thinking i would just like to add a or maybe an internal and external proximity sensor alarm system that i can turn on only wheb i have gear in the truck.

Any recommendations? i am not seeing any thay look weatherproof. i do have a ton cover that could help shield it. i live in louisiana so we have a lot of rain, humidity and we have heat and a freeze or two

I had a Clifford on my car a few years back with proximity. I liked it because you could set different zones. You could set one zone to give a warning when someone was too close(peering in through the window) and the second zone(reaching in an open sunroof) would set off the alarm. You could easily turn off either or all of the zones from the remote if you were in a busy area(i.e. car show). Downside was that the sensor was sensitive to heat so if you parked the car outside in the sun, the distance of each range changed. The sensor was centered in the vehicle and you controlled the outward range, it may not have to be weather-proof if mounted in the cab.
