My old shop-vac was what I've always used for car cleanup.

Dang thing was too strong, really....pulled the carpet up with it.

I've also used the good old B&D Dustbuster at times, too.

Old shop-vac bit the dust when I used it repeatedly to clean out the ash build up between the outer walls & firebox of my ceramic kamado grills. I guess the ash clogged the filter and the motor burned out.

I wanted to get something that would work well for my family's cars and didn't know if there was anything out there that would be better than the $50-$75 shop-vac from Walmart.

Figured I'd check in with the experts here beforehand.

    Thanks.

I picked up one of those little Porter & Cable vacs from Costco, and it's working great for me! Small, lightweight, decent suction, I can always return it if something goes wrong....the only thing I wish it came with was a blade attachment to clean in tight spots, like between the seats, center console, etc.

I got a shark rocket last black friday thru Amazon. Has damn good suction, compact, and came with all sorts of detailing attachments for getting tight spaces. I wouldn't be surprised if they put it up for sale again this black friday too. Think I paid right around $100 for it. Use it weekly to vacuum the house, and monthly to get the taco. Still runs as strong as a year ago when I got it.

I purchased a ShopVac at Wally-Hell several years ago on Black Friday for a little bit of nothing, $20-$30 I believe. It's been fantastic. I purchased this a couple months ago and wish I would have forever ago! 20171016_173634.jpg

When the day comes that it bites the dust I'm looking into a wall mounted vacuum. I've seen a couple on Amazon and like the idea of it being up out of the way and the really long hose. Good luck on your search!

i also concur that the smaller shop-vac sold at lowes, walmart etc is an excellent vacuum. Hell mine is 10 yrs old and still going strong on interiors.

Home Depot sells rigid vacs. We switched over to them at work 2 yrs. ago. They seems to run better and suck better than the shop vacs that we used to use. I think the quality of shop vac has went down hill in the last 5-10 yrs. just like most other products. That’s just my opinion. I have seen detailing specific models out there, but they start at the 200-250 price range.

I saw that kit at Wallyworld today when I bought a Shop-Vac......wasn't 100% sure it'd fit my particular model. Will check tomorrow and go back later for the kit if it does.

Sure looks custom made for car werk.

Yep! That's where I got mine. I think the diameter is standard to all shop vac hoses aside from the big huge shop vacs.

Those are great to hook up a reg vac and I used the kit at a client and their vacuum for computers, but personally, I went big time. Sob sucks it all

That's similar to what I'd like to have! Up and out of the way and always plugged in.

Yeah, like it alot, but expensive as hell if installing on a finished house. Mine was installed while the house was being built so wasn't that bad. The only down side of this thing, if your not careful when vacuming while parts laying around installing something, it WILL suck up bolts and nuts! I just finished fishing one out!!

I use a cheap ass shop vac. Works very well. No special attachments either.

Rigid from HD with the car detail attachments. Had it for 4 years and still works perfect. Be sure to keep a clean filter on it.

I have a Rigid vac and it’s built like a tank. I abuse that thing and it just keeps running.
