got to man...elgin tends to get hit harder by storms than columbia and if it ends up coming in like on a friday...i dont want my dog here by herself trapped in a kennel where she cant be safe...

talked to my mom tonite and if it looks like were gonna have nastiness from hanna im gonna take the dog over to their house since my mom will be home to bring the dogs inside if need be

plus ive been meaning to do the whole photograph my stuff thing because its just good to have done in the event of something happening...now is as good a time as any plus i have some motivation to do such

One of my neighbors stayed in town for the hurricane and he said it looks like we didn't have any damage. We're staying in a Motel 6 in Northern Louisiana.

My farts are stinking real bad and I don't think my wife and in laws are going to keep blaming it on the cats all night.

boobs mcgee isnt gonna wanna stay here at the condo if things do get bad....and i aint gonna wanna stay at her mom and dad's house............so i reckon we gotta come up with a compromise incase we do have some bad weather, and by bad.....i mean alotta tornados or trees landing on the condo.

and im thinking i may get some photos of everything here, especially my guns and stuff of value. the nighborhood behind me....lets just say i dont trust anyone around here to not loot and steal shit if the opportunity arises. hell....we have had someone try to get in the back door 3 or 4 times already....with us home and around 3 or 4 in the am.

firearms i would take with me...especially old/collectors ones...

just keep your eyes on the news and prepare to leave now so that youre not scrambling on thurs night

tvs and clothes etc are way easier to replace than old guns

oh yeah, definitely. knowing me though......i'll more than likely stay around here even if she does go to her moms house....like 5 minutes away. the condo's are built on a good concrete foundation, so i think we will be good to go here. we'll just have to keep an eye on the weather channel and decide what we are going to do closer to the end of the week.

All this talk of evacuations reminds me of what I went through down here during the fires we had last October. No warning what-so-ever, untill 4:30 AM that morning and police kicked us out 'cause the fire was right up the street. 30+ friends and 360+ students from my district lost their homes.

Scary as hell. Good luck to you guys - stay safe!

Glad to hear that Gustav did not wreak the havoc as expected, sounds like this is going to be a busy season. I am expected to get hammered by rain by thursday or friday. :rain:

All of my teachers are acting like we're gonna have Friday off. The ground here just does not want any more rain.

Friday Nights football games been moved to Tommorow. Looks like I'm gonna have a three day weekend and some mudding to do soon.

the house that my mom is at now(my grandma's old house), the basement flooded an assload of times when it would rain for a few days........water was like 6 inches deep in the whole damn basement....which was my old room when i lived there. you may call 2 or 3 feet a playground....but the number of things in that basement that got ruined from all that water.....that was flooded to me. its a bitch getting outta bed at 3am to go hit the head, and step outta bed into ice cold water up past your ankles!!!!!;) then...you gotta try opening the back door and keep on dumping buckets..........that shit took forever!!!

yeah....streets and shit getting some water on them is different, unless its f'n up someone's home. we rarely get "flooded streets" around here anyway. when a part of a house gets flooded tho......that shit really sucks!!!

We're back in our house now. We got electricity last night, never lost water, sewage is sort of back, no cable/internet yet, but we are being amazingly productive.

Not too much damage to the house. There is some garage damage, but I'll probably just fix that myself.
