Question what recommendations can you suggest for mbt bike rack for bed? Don't want to remove front tire but like a lock too

Saw people buy the matts that lay over tail gate too ok for quick drive over to a local park no security lock for that.

    Last question

Back set pet covers to save seats anyone recommend best?

    Thanks
    Tx Tacoma new owner

Bed racks are fine but I prefer a hitch rack. I use one made by 1up usa

Yakima hitch mount, the kind with the trays that hold the bike by the wheel. If you want something less expensive look at the Rockymounts, they have one that mounts into the bed rails of the Tacoma and holds the bike by the fork, its lockable too, its what I'm using.

Only issue with all the rail mount fork mounts is that the 2016-2017 Tacoma got rid of the front rail. why I have no idea.

I wasn't aware that they've removed the front rail on the 3rd Gen. That's exactly how I have it mounted on my 2012. knowing that now I would recommend a hitch mount.

The second gen rail mounts to the existing screws in the bed. They are cheap like $40-50 IIRC.

Agreed I had one of those fork mounts in the bed rail and thought the bike moved and swayed to much. Had the KB VooDoo outboard bike mount for years and just sold it. Yakima makes some nice racks that work with the OEM Roof Rack

I use a dog hammock I got off Amazon. It works well but wish it stayed on the sides by the doors better. Heres a pic from 3-4 months ago when i picked up my pup from the rescue a few months ago. Cant seem to find the same one on amazon but they are all similar. (the pup is much bigger now.)

I actually broke the zipper in the middle trying to open the back seat without unhooking/unzipping it so I will either fix it or buy a new one. If I decide to replace it I may go with this one: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B06XBL15RJ

Depends what kind of bikes you are using. Bed matts are great but you gotta keep them clean or they will rub the clear coat off your tailgate. It's by far the best option for shuttling/exteme applications, can get 8 downhill bikes on a tailgate no problem and super secure. Run a bike lock through the frames and through the d-ring Rie down in the back corner of the bed when you go in for a post ride beer.

That being said not everyone is stacking half a dozen high end bikes on their tailgate.

Hitch racks can be good but the only ones worth anything are the tray style, they are spendy to get one worth having and kind of unnecessary in a truck.

Making your own 2x4 slotted wheel rack by the cab end of the bed is also extremely popular in the bike world. Can tie down the bikes Moto style for long journey, basically free, and can be adapted for the type of bikes you use easily.
