Figured I'd post a few pictures of my onboard air setup. ARB single compressor, slee bracket, with some misc fittings and a bracket from Wit's End.

Nope, well not yet. Right now it's just for airing up the tires. Well that and inflatables for the beach!

Ya that's my primary use for now as well airing back up did you use the wire harness that came from ARB , if so what did you do with the connections for the lockers?

I taped them to the main bundle of wires so they just look like a bump. That way if/when I add lockers they're accessible and clean.

The bracket and the cover are made by Wit's End: http://absolute-wits-end.com/ the fittings/connector are Parker. I also put an aluminum plate on a the bottom, so there isn't just a bracket bolted to plastic.

All the parts came in, and hopefully with a 3-day weekend ahead I can get it installed. I know I've got at least one trip to the hardware store, but other than fittings it's all here. For those interested, the tank I bought is a mil-surp 2 gallon aluminum made by JWP in Ohio, and it only cost me $36 shipped on eBay. I thought that was a smoking deal. Will post final installation pics hopefully Monday.

Super QuickFist. Same thing that is holding an 8 gallon homemade water tank mounted in the bed of my truck. They are rated for up to 100 lbs I think.

Here you go. Note the schrader valve on top for hooking air to. With the regulator set to about 20 psi, I should have continuously pressurized water.

This will be my air setup. I've already installed a hose reel with 50' of pull, so no problem reaching all 4 wheels or whatever else I need. The rectangle will be the gauge/switch and the circle below the regulator knob. All fittings will be hidden behind the bed side panels. Instead of using the gauge mounted with the switch panel for tank pressure, I'm going to use it for regulated pressure. I see no need to know what the tank pressure is, but if I want to know I can just crank up the regulator to max. There will be a blow-off on the tank, so I'm not worried about over pressure either. I plan to hide everything in the driverside rear fender and reduce the amount of airline to a minimum. I believe I can hook-up everything with threaded fittings other than the tank, so that will be my only maintenance hopefully. I also plan to keep my spare right where it is, and not use any of my cubbies for the OBA system.

I built another tank for my roof rack that on nice summer days doubles as a pressurized shower. That gives me close to 20 gallons of pressurized water.

They are SCH40 6” PVC with standard fittings. The filler is a 2” bushing and threaded cap and the Schrader valve is another 3/8 bushing I believe. Nothing fancy, just make sure to cut the holes for the bushings tight and use plenty of primer/glue. As an added measure I used silicon on the inside around the fittings to make sure there were no leaks. The outside is coated in bed liner, and I made the mounting brackets for both. I’ve pressure tested both up to 80 psi and they held no problem. The threaded caps leak a little at the threads, but not enough to bother changing them out for something gasketed.

Haven’t really tested it yet, but I’m sure aluminum would work better. Aluminum would also cost 3x as much or more. If you go that route I’d by some used aluminum air tanks and convert.

I’m not sure there would be much to salvage, but FYI they both cost me about $300 to build.

300 jeez. I’ve got a 16 gallon water tank with heating element and pump for under 150. 227C021D-A4E4-4363-8891-A8AF37067EE9.jpgIt’s wrapped in 2 layers of insulating foil/bubble wrap to keep heat in it’s an abs tank
