It will cost you 1 hr for the diagnostic......i don't know what your labor rates are in MO.....say 120

This is standard, if it is warranty/recall related then the part will be replaced via Toyota and the Diag will be a wash if not you are on the hook for the repair, if your shop is a good one then the tech will only charge you the time it takes to search the code and confirm the issue.

Yes, the Toyota's are under air bag recalls. From the info I have, all but the last couple of years of ALL Japanese branded cars used Takata air bags.

YAY!!! means my 15 will have them all replaced at some point....seats, curtains,dash..........probably a 6 month process.....

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
For what it’s worth mine was a bad left front impact sensor. Can’t recall the cost but not horrible

if my 15 does then your 10 does. it may not be on the "list" yet as they are doing them in tiers. easiest way is to go to the National Traffic and Highway Safety Board website and enter your vin, any and all recalls and TSB's that have paper on them will come up.

my 15 is not on the list yet as they have not got to those years in the research yet, IF they are a recall item then I will probably know by 2019.
(not that big a deal unless you live in an area with lots of salt in the air or high humidity.)

just got a notice for the 10 versa for the driver side, last year was the passenger side. funny thing is, the drivers side will not be available until spring 2018.......

This is just the seat sensor that tells the vehicle whether to turn the passenger airbag on or off. Part # 89952-35011 I believe. . .

Sorry to pop your air bag, but none of the Tacoma's are on the Takata Air Bag Recall.

The airbag recall listed above was for the spiral cable not the air bag mechanism and has been active for quite some many years.

WRONG, there was an expansion at the beginning of the year, the NHTSA is still investigating, according to NHTSA the current end to this recall is 2020....tentatively.

SO NO ONE knows for sure just yet. the older ones may have used TRW for the unit. This is a recall that not even TAKATA knows how many were affected.

I visited a local Toyota dealer the other day and they said the same thing, current info is no Tacoma, but, the info changes daily. and there won't be a notice until late 2018 possibly 2019 if there is to be replacements.

There is a way to trace the airbags used via VIN and trim codes......just need access to yota to decipher it.
