not a beer fan myself but know quite a few who would gladly partake in a husky themed beer. just looked them up and looks like they donate a portion to various rescues.

DECA8EDD-2AFC-4EBB-980F-558DEC471BD5.jpg This is Sprig my lab. Sweetest most affectionate dog I’ve ever had. But even more he is the best trained, most obedient and most awesome hunting dog I’ve known. More than anything he’s my spoiled buddy. The top pic is him in the duck marsh(I put his camo collar on after the pic was taken) Hes retrieved more than a thousand waterfowl and pheasants.
Here he is sleeping with his best friend our big male cat.

My dogs, Pepper and Danke. We found Pepper (black one) as a puppy while out riding mountain bikes. Danke, the boxer, was adopted in March from a friend when she could no longer keep her. They took to each other instantly.

My current lab came from a Dad who has more hunting titles than I've ever seen and a mom who had many titles as well. At about 5 months I was dumfounded, he wouldn't fetch anything. I started researching why. You have to make it fun for them to retrieve. Fun for each dog is entirely different. For him it was fetching a tug toy, then playing tug of war when he brought it back. Training the out command was really easy later on. Now he fetches with drive like no other dog I've seen. I come from a large family that almost exclusively has hunting Labs. At any point we may have 15 to 18 between my immediate and extended family. There are definitely ones that don't care to fetch, and ones that are obsessed with it. A lot goes into how you introduce it.

Dealing with a GSD breeder search right now. Our current GSD is of Eastern European heritage. Large frame, square hips, excellent working and play drive. Everyone wants to sell me show dogs and American breed GSD’s. I get that Easterns make excellent schutzhund dogs but I’d rather have a solid working drive dog.

With that said, if anyone has a breeder they’d recommend here in the States I’d be grateful for their information. Starting to think that I’ll be importing a dog from Europe and while exciting to see a dog that isn’t as polluted as domestic offerings may be, I really want to deal with a breeder that I can physically shake hands with.

We are going with Vom Amwolf in chicago....amazing breeder with amazing dogs. Go check out their website. I have contacted hundreds of gsd breeders and non even came close to them. Francesca is absolutely amazing.

They are west/ ddr and Czech working line
Their sire latigo is stunning and is the K-9 unit for nbc Chicago pd. I know many people who have their puppies and all of them are very happy.

Black and dark sable. They are fairly large

I've got a question for those of you that hunt with your dogs. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but would like to confirm it. When hunting birds (not waterfowl) with dogs, the dogs are supposed to remain relatively quiet, correct? I only ask because Sunday was the last day of dove season and my neighbor was letting some guys hunt on his farm. They had their labs, which were barking loudly, and were constantly shouting at their dogs.

I normally don't mind when people hunt nearby, but these guys were making the wrong kind of noises. I don't mind hearing gunshots but some fella shouting constantly, it was ruining my peaceful Sunday.

You are correct, those were untrained or poorly trained uncontrolled dogs. Sounds like the hunters weren’t any better. When dove hunting dogs should sit quietly, never barking. When a dove is down the dogs shouldn’t move until the hunter releases or gives him the signal. Sounds like a bad situation.
