    I think I read in some thread that you can slide shifter into drive and then move it to the left and the truck will shift better (not to early or late)! Is that true? Maybe I misunderstood or something?

    Maybe you read about disengaging the downhill assist (when your truck automatically downshifts when going downhill) by quickly sliding the shift knob from Drive to 4 and back to Drive.
