Carhartt and Clazzio seat cover questions

I don’t think it’s right to disprespect everyone who buys leather seat covers. Like c’mon.....horse saddles are leather, serious motor cyclists wear leathers.....it’s not like leather is just all prissy and fancy and can’t be a tough product.

Secretly, like me, you will start to slowly regret those Carhartts......

 

i don't quite understand why being fancy w/ those leather covers is disrespectful....i didnt make a value judgement on anyone in particular. i love leather, but the whole purpose of leather in a vehicle is to be fancy...thats why they charge more, exclusivity

I live in Texas...carhartt is like 75% of my wardrobe. i have no interest in anything else on my truck seats.

 

Fair enough. Guess I’m just trying to add a bit of perspective.

 

Leather is also easier to care for and definitely cleans up easier.

That being said, I've got factory seats in mine.

Are the Carhartt covers form fitted, or are they baggy?

 

I installed the Clazzios 4 days ago and yesterday I had to put the 3 year old's car seat back in. In between the car seat and clazzios I put this...

It has a thick padding and will offer some level of protection and hopefully keep the leather from creasing. Also it just happens to have red stitching that matches my Clazzios perfectly. Additionally I installed the matching seat back protectors...

Fancy and Functional

 

They are baggy like a pair of sweat pants

 

Mostly form fitted, but not OEM-ish looking the the clazzios. Definitely look like seat covers. The places you notice are the headrest and the sides of the seat where you see the elastic. The best thing about the carharrts is the huge back pocket. It is great.

 

NO you will not -- If you choose the right cover for your needs and lifestyles -- I have had mine (carhartts) for 9 months and I feel this is the best purchase I made for my Tacoma. WE washed ours before we put them for the first time (as recommended by Mfr.) and they fit very nice and tight. Now if I had put Carhartts on our Subaru OB --that would be different --these 2 vehicles are utilized differently. If you use your truck like a truck -- carhartt --use it like a car -- commute and all that stuff -- get the leather it is nice. It is all in what YOU need --not somebody elses uses --YOURS!

 

NO they are not if you wash them first and put them on correctly!!

 

There must be some that don’t wash first. Some of the ones I’ve seen looked baggy/loose compared to other options.

 

I have the clazzio's and have a convertible car seat. I use one of those $15 car seat protectors like this

and every time I check the leather underneath - which is frequently, as I have the seat in and out a lot (out when not driving my son for a while, the carseat rattles and drives me crazy), it looks brand new. So I wouldn't hesitate to get the Clazzios, but I would recommend a cheap car seat protector as well to cover spills and general wear and tear from cranking the seat down tight.

 

I've had them both. The carhartts were nice. The clazzio are nicer.

Clazzios FTMFW. Actually, it depends on your specific wants and needs. I've had them in my 2015 for nearly 3 years now and the still look great.

 

That's genius. Whenever I take out the carseat, I swear there's a fine layer of cracker dust where the car seat was. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for all of the replies. If anybody could post up pics of the carhartt covers in their truck I would appreciate it. The online photos on their website show a RAM interior.
