Can we have a mod day soon? I just got quoted 6-7 hrs labor for AAL, u-bolt flip and lower grille light bar. Can’t be throwing that much money away. 2 hrs just for wiring the light...

 

Light can easily be done solo. There are several guides on here. AAL and ubolts are a good combo, but an extra set of hands is helpful there.

 

I have the added complication of also having an avid bumper guard mounted in same slot, and I have never wired any lights before, so that one actually feels the toughest to me.

Edit: For the rear, what I’ve done myself so far is add blocks and change shocks, so AAl and U-Bolt flip will be an incremental learning experience.

 

2 hrs. wiring a light to the front?? that's about a 40 min job max.. where do you live? my buddy has a shop in Mansfield, did my aal, ome springs, and bilsteins back on my old setup with alignment for about $350 bucks. He is cheap and solid

 

Doing the AAL is only a few steps past what you did to add the lift block. Once the U-Bolts are off, jack up the frame away from the axle and loosen the center bolt holding the leaf pack together. Slide the AAL above the overload leaf, use a C-Clamp or two to compress the leafs back together and insert the new longer center bolt. Tighten it all back down, use a hacksaw/Dremel to remove the excess and check that you can put the bump stop back on. U Bolt Flip should be self explanatory, plate on top of the leaf pack and U-Bolts go in from the bottom.
Lights should also be easy if you bought a harness with a relay. Most come with a switch so you only need to worry about running the wiring into the cab. Feed the wiring through the grommet on the drivers side firewall where other wires come in and connect wires to the battery.

 

The light is def not to difficult If I can figure it out then anyone should be able to lol. I dont mind helping at all mine probably took about 45 mins like @ztaragon said

Would need to flip my timbren bumpstops as well, as part of the u-bolt flip.

Holy shit, we did a leaf spring swap at one of the campsites in gilmer for @TRD493 in maybe in hour, front UCAS, solid bushing and coilovers in 2-3 hours if that. Wire your own relay it’s not bad, I can find you a diagram and it will make it look so easy, 4 wires and another ground switch isn’t bad either.

 

RC/Mod day?

 

Ughhhhhh fine.

 

My wife found a babysitter finally, so I might actually be able to tackle this on the weekend. If anyone wants to drink beer and guide/supervise, let me know.

I also have stainless brake lines, but I’m thinking I should leave those to professionals.
