New member to the community. Previously putted around in an 06 Tacoma (named Tonka) and loved that truck. Long time Toyota owner and my 06 confirmed I would not stray. Sold before heading out the door for a deployment and now I find myself in a dilemma. Do I go ahead and buy a TRD Pro or other model. In pricing out other models, it looks like I am going to be right around that 40 mark. Then I found this site. So bad, so very very bad. Now I have a list of mods I would like to do to make an OR or Sport look like the Pro. That's why I am leaning towards the Pro. Prefer a stock look.

Just a disclaimer. Yes, I will be a poser in a Pro if I go that route. She will see some dirt and sand from time to time, but probably not that much until she gets some age on her. Whats the communities advice? (Supposed to be putting down my deposit tomorrow)

For the mark up on the pro you can do your own suspension plus rims and tires

Cant say it any better than that. Also if it wont see much off-road you can get decent suspension for much less unless the seat stitching and emblems are a big deal. I do like the new blue color though...

It might be easier if you list off whats on your radar for mods on the vehicle as well.

Off Road don't pay that overpriced amount for that. They sell this non adjustable Fox stuff for 3200.00 You know what kind of lift you could get for 3200.00

I was at the dealership yesterday and they had a 2018 TRD PRO in Calvery Blue on the showroom floor. Amazing looking truck, but the markup killed it for me, and that's why I went with the OFF ROAD. It has the crawler and rear locking differential for a lot less $$$$

Wow and sadly some fucking idiot will buy it thinking they got a great Off Road Monster. Can't believe they put all that work into it and put non adjustable seriously overpriced coilover's up front, same cheesy OEM UCA's that probably come on the all the Tacoma's. What a waste of money, man what you could do with an Off Road and all that extra cash.

Get an OR. The Pro is a waste of money and it's not worth what they are asking for it.

Go with the Pro. Just ordered mine on 11/20/17. Already have mods waiting on it to arrive :santa:. Lift kit came yesterday, Revtek 427AP kit made specifically for the Trd Pro, which is 1.5" front and 1.25" AAL in rear. Finding someone to work on a Pro is a different story. 4wheel parts won't touch a Pro.

The badging, the hood, and the grill sold me on it. Not to mention much better resale value. You can drive the thing for two years and still get somewhere in the $40's for it. Just sold my '17 Cement Trd Pro 4runner for $49k, bought it for $43k and put $4k into it.

Wow, so you profited $2K off of a new car? That’s pretty good. Every PRO owner I’ve come across with a stock or modded truck have stated they’re losing out. Unless they got a killer deal on the truck, parts or labor... then they come up even.
