    Good opportunity to learn to weld. Anyone can make a weld hold within a day of screwing around, it just might not be very pretty. But there is a solution for that, an angle grinder. Just weld, grind it smooth, weld in any holes you uncover, and grind smooth again. It'll look good enough to impress your friends, be plenty strong enough, and by the end of the project you'll be making pretty good looking welds.

    Check out SV Seeker on YouTube to see just what you can do with overbuilt components and first time welders.

    I would probably make it out of 1 or 2 inch square tubing with mitered corners so you can avoid the equipment needed for bending pipe.
