Had mine used to buy $1K worth of stuff from Office Depot in Cincinnati. Chase didn't catch it, but they did refund me after a week. Gained a lot of brownie points for that one. Now, I only use it for the ATM or Spec's to get the cash discount

Nope was bounced all over the place, they couldn't pin point it. And as I caught it first thing none of the items shipped to a destination

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Every time I asked the bank "who was it" I'd get a response of "we can't disclose that information". My rebutel is usually "screw you, it's my money"

The hell you can't. If a store can't keep your information secure, I'd rather find a new place to shop. Or at least change how I pay there.

Meanwhile I'm over here getting my own purchases shut down by amex  I was actually pretty impressed with that one. Went to spend $600 at a walmart down in DC that we rarely go to, and my card was declined. Paid with my debit card instead, and 2 minutes later amex called me wondering if the charge was authorized or not so they could approve it, but they were too late.

I'm not sure who it is, but one of us needs coffee. Our special sarcasm abilities aren't deployed yet.

my wife and I had our bank account compromised 2 times. 1 time was our stubhub account which was linked to our bank account where someone tried to by courtside tickets to a knicks bulls game in ny and we live in tx. got flagged but had to change numbers and didn't cost anything other than a pain and time chsnging everything. 2 time was someone transferred money from our boa account to another account in boa. we did have to change everything there but the best part was that the thief was so stupid. she transferred $95 and change to her personal account so the fraud dept had her full name email and bank account number. might not have noticed the small amount if my wife wasn't so crazy looking and managing our money accounts. so now we use our cap 1 credit card for EVERYTHING ( gain all that goes along with it ). if we charge 5000 in a month then I pay it off at the end. at the end of the day if as thief gets the credit card it will only take whats available. crazy thing is that I ALWAYS use a QT convinence store for gas and just the other night I needed gas and pulled into a racetrack. filled up and not 2 mins after done I got a text asking if I used racetrack and respond 1 for yes or 2 for no.

I've had mine stolen a couple of times and now put my own damn protection in place

It's pretty confusing to most people, but I have a series of bank accounts now and the debit card I use online is tied to an account with basically the minimum balance at all times unless I'm about to buy something...then I just transfer funds as needed into the "burner" account

Anyone who steals that number will be disappointed when they can't even get a tank of gas on my card

I don't have a active debit card. A few places have given me a card i didnt activate, too many horror stories. I use PP for evilbay, linked mostly to a credit card. Only had cc info stolen twice. One was declined another I had to file a report. Home Depot messed me up temporarily one night. Punched in a $1 sale, reversed it, then my card would not work for the correct amount, had to call the cc company.
Use a Tyvec sleeve to store your cc in, supposedly your card can't be scanned by thieves then.
