I have seen a few threads on here where people mention changing out the center piece of the grill on the 05-09 models to the one from a 2010, is that a real thing? It does not look like the grill comes in 2 pieces, but if it does, where I can I get the center piece? I have a 2008 bsp grille that I want to change to the 2010 style, but Toyota changed the color in 2010, so changing out just the center piece would be perfect.

The center piece does disconnect from the grill surround. PITA but it does come out.

    Too few to list.
I think the whole color matched grill is less than $300

Could post in the FS section to see if you can get a used one from someone that has swapped to a mesh insert.

If it’s like the 2014, it’s a lot of tabs that you have to pry up at the same time, or else the last one you got up snaps back down. Hard to explain, but doable with some patience and toothpicks or something to hold them up once released.

It's 11 that's different than 05-10. The 05-11 grilles all have a bunch of tabs that poke through and are melted over. If you want to do any part swapping, you'll have to grind off the tabs and then glue it back together.
