So I found this really nice dude to swap wheels/tire set with and I had a few concerns

Discount tire said they would do the swap for free, and do the tpms calibration also, is there anything to be concerned about them doing this?

He has the TSS package with 17 inch wheels and I have 16 inch silver alloy wheels, is the spare wheel swap necessary?

Finally, the thing that bothers me is the discrepancy between our mileage as my firestone destination have 1,000+ miles and his have 20,000 miles(Albeit they look in great condition) but it means that I would have to replace those about 2 years sooner than my current set. Is the bf goodrich rugged terrain worth it in this condition?

I was asking for a little cash on top to make it a bit more even due to tire wear but not sure if it's going to happen..

Hmmm nothing is free, be careful they don't sneak a charge in on you somewhere. Depending on year of your truck and the sensors they may tell you a sensor or more might be giving weak signal or dead and which point they will tell you that you need to replace it/ them for a good sum of money. Just be cautious. As for the tires driving habits and Miles per year are key. As long as you don't always punch it, and you stay on top of rotations and alignments you should be good. Had big rugged terrains for about 2 years, didn't put more then 5k miles before i switched to bfg ko2s. Hope I helped

If the local Discount Tire store Manager told you they would do the swap and recalibration at no charge, they will do it at no charge. As far as the tire condition, I would suggest having the store Manager inspect them and give their opinion. It is difficult to say what condition the tires are in without being able to inspect them.

Tires get replaced easily. I'm not a fan of either tire in your scenario.

Is it his 17" TSS wheels that you really want? That's ultimately the question here. The wheels should last you forever unless you swap them again.

As for spare tires... if you have a full size 16" spare and he has a full size 17" spare... then swap them. If both are the same 16" steel spare... meh.

But Tacomas usually come with a full size matching spare tire. Meaning, if he had BFG's from the factory then his spare will be a BFG. And your spare is likely a Destination. In which case it only makes sense to swap spares as well.
