I'm a little worried about my trip to Austin now as people don't know how to drive in rain much less snow. Obligatory Toysnowta pic.

Well, you need to come get it. True story from last night... A lot of us here, I suspect, don't think of our vehicles as "just a car". Okay, maybe not a lot, maybe everyone here thinks their trucks are more than that, including me. Some vehicles I've sold and never given it a second thought, (I'm looking at you, FJ Cruiser), but I've always wondered what became of the '93 P/U that I sold to get that FJ Cruiser, and hoped it had a fun second life. The buyer croaked of a massive heart attack two years after buying it, so maybe it's on to it's third life now, but I digress... I've always liked my '11 Taco, it's treated me well, and let's face it, there is no reason for me to get a Tundra, other than this is 'merica, that's what we do, and I've always kinda liked Tundras, when done right. But would I regret trading in the Taco? Hmm...

So I was kinda agonizing over my decision yesterday, Googling Tundra vs. Tacoma on the Tundra forums, and Tacoma vs. Tundra on the Tacoma forums. Here is a tip: Never look to an internet forum to help you decide anything. And I mean anything. My wife has had the distinct displeasure of knowing me for over 17 years now, so I wanted to talk to her about it. Not from an approval standpoint, as our money is separate, or from a purchase standpoint; her attitude towards buying things, (which can be summed up as "YES!! YES!!! YES!!!!"), is why we have separate money. I just wanted her to hear me out on what I was thinking and tell me if I was nuts or not. 95% of the time, it's the former, for those scoring at home.

After 30 minutes of listening to me do the pros/cons/devil's advocate game, she said, "Well, you're worthless on this. Pull up a Magic 8 Ball app on your phone and see what it says." I thought why the hell not, because, well, why the hell not? I wasn't surprised there was actually a Magic 8 Ball app in the App store; what I was surprised at was how many there are. I downloaded the first one that popped up, asked the question, "Should I get the Tundra?", and this popped up:

I threw the phone down on the couch, and said, "okay, it's done." Somewhere on the new Tundra will be a Magic 8 ball sticker, and now you know why.

The only question now is if the Taco hits a sales lot, or your garage...

I'll quit bugging you, if you really can't swing the deal, and trade the Taco in tomorrow. If you want to test drive it, with the goal of buying it, I can hold off a few days; I think the sales guy on the Tundra would rather see straight cash of the homie variety, instead of another truck to sell. Ideally, both my former Taco and new Tundra would be at C&C on Sunday; it's up to you.

You should be fine. Roads are dry and there's no more rain or snow forecasted all weekend. Once the sun comes up things will be back to normal. Hell, I saw people tailgating and ducking in and out of traffic like it was no big deal. A little reckless for my taste. Still gotta watch out for ice. But conditions aren't bad.

The ice has claimed a victim. Leaky White had a bit of a spin and hit the bridge out in Wimberley. 60 miles of safe travel undone at the last mile due to slick tires. 20171208_070151.jpg

 ouch. Bummer. Sounds like you're alright though. Gotta be so careful on those bridges. They can surprise you for sure.
