Here's my new ride. Cervelo P5 - Ultegra. Dura-Ace shifters, new in the box - ready to hook up.
Oh....and I need to swap over my saddle and pedals as well.

Super sweet ride! I almost bought the red version P5 Six about 2 months ago.

    Work in progress...
Nice! I have been using my wife's Peloton Bike, with my Power Tap P1 pedals, to train on Zwift.com, you can check it out. For 10 bucks a month you can't go wrong I have 2,934 miles, 319 slices of pizza, on there. Those Europeans kick my ass in the races but I am figuring out the drafting and racing strategy.

This P5 is a bit older - but pretty much brand new...and I got it for next to nothing. It's a P5 Three, that was used for 1 race and 3 training rides. It's hardly got a mark on it. Very nice components on it. I got everything (less wheels and pedals) for $2600 Cdn. Still kinda blown away!

You got a great bike and deal. The P5 is still one of their flagship bikes.

Picked this bike up late last year - minus the wheels, pedals, and saddle. It needed some assembly, and a few touches. And I finally got it all together, and back from a tune up.

Sweet rig man! How do you like the oval crank ring?

Although it's a Rotor crank, it's not the oval shape. This one is still circular. I would have to try an oval one sometime, before buying one.

Ahh, ya. I see that now. The white paint is an optical illusion. I've always wondered about those oval cranks.

I'm riding a quintana roo these days, but a local guy has a cervelo p5x and it's growing on me.

Oval crank would be weird - I imagine. I hope to try one, someday.

P5x is an interesting bike. I'm not in love with the looks of it. But I'm told they're absolute missiles!! I'm just exciting to get my P5 going here soon. Spring FINALLY arrived this week - so it won't be long now.

Nice!! That's a crazy machine as well!!

My first (and likely only) real race this year is in July as well. IM Canada 70.3. I had some surgery this past Jan and Mar, so I'm a bit behind at the moment. But I'm soon ready to begin training. Not going to have any big breakouts this year - but I'll have fun. Especially riding this monster!!

Since we're doing bike porn, and you suggested going with a QR PR6 or PR5, let me say I absolutely love mine. Also, in Arlington VA, we have a local shop that carries QRs, and I showed them online pricing and they worked with me on price and it was a super great experience getting to deal with a local bike shop.

The new QR PR6s have a very similar aesthetic to the concept when you add the integrated top tube box and the "Q-box" on the back. Then again, the asymmetrical frame on the QR is radically different than the treck, but its so subtle you don't really notice it unless you're looking for it..well...other than the fact that the one chain stay is totally massive and the other one is skinny.

Reviving old thread that I haven't posted on in 2 years or so, back in a Taco as of yesterday! Anyway, anyone still here? Racing, etc? Wife and I did IM Santa Rosa last year, I highly recommend the race, it's a racer's race, not so much a spectator's race although this year the roads were pretty crap from reports I have heard. I am signed up for 3 - 70.3's, CdA, Santa Rosa and Calgary, only a month and a half from first to last but tore my meniscus during the Boston marathon last month. Heading to the ortho Friday and hopefully have it cleaned up with a simple surgery next week.

Race photo and pic of my new truck!

I have a sprint coming up in a few weeks and then hopefully doing my first 70.3 later this year. Still trying to decide if that's a smart move or not and whether or not my work schedule would allow for it. I also just discovered the wonders of split nose saddles and don't see myself ever going back. I've been demoing an ISM one for a couple weeks and will probably purchase by the end of the week.

I am using a Fizik saddle and really like it, took a long time to break in but it has been fantastic for me and I like the built in bottle holder bracket.

Had my ortho appt today, definitely having surgery, just arthroscopic to clean up my meniscus and remove some cysts. Sucks because I will miss my first 70.3 of the year and my goals for the following two races will have to be seriously adjusted.

Some activity in this Thread again. I don't get on TW as often these days.

Nice to see you guys are still training and racing - when you can. Same thing here. Oh....and I use that exact 'split-nose' saddle (pictured above) as well. On both my Tri Bike, and Road Bike. Could never use anything else!!

I had some surgical procedures done last year - which made for an interesting training/racing year. 8 years after dropping (roughly) 150 pounds, I finally had skin surgery, to remove a lot of the excess skin. This has been a serious game changer for me. I've struggled with endurance, since dropping the weight. The excess skin - which will never go away - had always been a major 'boat anchor' for me. And since getting rid of most of it.....things are really different!!
I was able to salvage a few races last Summer and Fall - but training this past Winter has been unreal!! My speed and abilities have shot through the roof!! Especially my running!! It's crazy to see the numbers on my watch!
I did my first race of the year yesterday - a little Sprint Triathlon, to get the cobwebs out. And I pulled off a 7th place overall - out of 51 racers. I nearly fainted when I saw that! I was 2nd place in age category.....which is crazy to me!!
I have IM Victoria 70.3 in a couple weeks - and I'm just super excited to have a fun time, and race the way I want too!
My big race for the year is in July. I'm signed up for the ITU Edmonton Triathlon (Olympic Distance) - in hopes to qualify for the WTS Worlds...representing Canada, in 2020.
Pretty excited how things are going. I've never been more fit in my life....and I'm loving every second!!
