I ordered a set of Dakar’s from headstrong. UPS dropped them off today in the driveway. Is it normal for these to come. Not packaged at all? These aren’t wrapped or anything, just leaf springs with a shipping sticker on them. They are scratched up pretty good and missing a lot paint in places. When the UPS driver pulled in my drive way and was unloading them I could hear him dragging them across the floor of the truck lol. Now I know they are just leaf springs and I’m not going to send them back but I was just wondering if they just got lazy or if it’s normal

I've seen quite a few delivered with just a shipping label slapped on them. I don't think it's uncommon.

Yes completely normal they even state something about paint scratches/paint somewhere on their website. If it brothers you bust them apart and you can repaint them and repack.

I ordered the Deaver U402 II and they came the same way. Why would they be packaged? They are so heavy they would have to be crated and banded which is a waste imho, and then have to be freight shpped

I ended up rebuilding mine, but it's worth taking them apart and repainting the leafs and even greasing the pads if you choose.

I got a set a few years ago for my Xterra and it was same deal, UPS guy doing the drag. I didn't care. Sounds like this is standard procedure.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like that’s the standard. Too bad the rest of the parts didn’t come in. Or I would be watching it snow and putting a lift on my truck this weekend.

It's completely normal. Due to their size, weight and shape it is useless to ship them in boxes. We have products that we won't ship in boxes for the same reason. The issue is the carelessness of the drivers. The boxes get thrown around, the products blow out the side and fall out, the box has the shipping info on it, not the product so then the product gets lost and the empty box gets delivered. It is actually safer to ship items like that the way they were shipped. Although, the driver shouldn't be a lazy ass and drag them like that.
