I recently cracked the passenger side headlight on my 07 TRD after hitting a piece of shredded tire that the car in front of me kicked up. I've done plenty of research on the forums here and have decided to use OEM assemblies and follow the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade. However, I have a few questions I can't seem to find the answers to.

    1. Because the housings are still intact, is there any way to purchase just the OEM lenses? I can't find them anywhere, the closest is just the housing (part 5 here). If not, has anyone bought Depo lights or similar and just used those lenses with the OEM housing?

    2. If I have to buy new assemblies, are there any models that already have black housing? On the same site I linked above they have the "smoked headlamp" option, but I think that is more of a dark chrome like the 09 sport.

    3. That said, would the 09 sports fit an 07 TRD? Some sites say yes, some no.

    Thanks!!

Busted light. (Don't mind the ash, California's on fire)

Not sure if you could purchase just the lense. Maybe a junkyard might have a set.

09 headlights will work on your 07.

    1) I haven't seen the lenses by themselves anywhere. I picked up the Depo brand for my 2010. I removed the new lens from Deposit, and installed it on my factory housing and used the sealant from the Retrofit Source. Note that you must put em in the oven to soften glue enough to unseal and then again to reseal. There are many guides on this on here.

    2) While you have your headlights open from putting a new lens on, just remove the trim pieces and paint to your liking. Do not paint the actual reflector bowl however, if you plan to stick with stock halogen lighting.

    3) They'll fit. 05-11 are the same.

If purchasing a set of aftermarket headlights to rob the lenses from, I'd recommend hitting them with some UV stabilizing headlight protectant. UV light is what causes the fogging of plastic lenses, and aftermarket lenses will not have the same quality coating (if any depending on brand) compared to OEM.
