I replaced the 2013 v6 with smog pump (SAIS) with 2009 V6 with out smog pumps. The truck currently has 2013 ECU with 09 motor, runs great expect for codes thrown by smog pump. I have both ECU and wire harness for 09 and 13. 13 harness is different from 09 due to respective ECU's.

Have narrowed it down to 3 options to clear codes hoping someone can give me any incite so I dont waste a bunch of time. This is order...

    1. I have heard through TIS you can disable smogs programming?

    2. Change wire harness to engine and ECU so 09 engine matches 09 ECU.
Two (1) concerns will ECU you need to be reprogrammed to match VIN of 13 truck is that even possible, or will it simple recognize engine and good to go. also will 09 ECU automatically disable truck like killing fuel pump because it is in different Truck?
    (2) the wire harness to pumps come from Fuse box not main harness to ECU (not sure this is problem?

    3. put 13 exhaust manifolds and valve covers on 09 engine then install pumps as normal. Not sure if there if this would work or if there are other internal components in the engine for smog pumps?

    Any incite is MUCH appreciate

First question do you need to have emission Inspections done where you live??

That is the big question !!

In some areas the engine emissions hardware must match the year of the vehicle!!

    Depending what your location does!!

Up grade to 2013 using the engine harness and all the sensors and hardware

In California, the replacement engine "must be the same year of the vehicle or newer" and of course must retain all the oem smog equipment. But no one gives a shit, until its time to get the vehicle smogged.
