 And my Royals are still trying to figure out how to keep 2 of our 4 free agents that made up our core pennant team.

Yankees throw around $1/4B contracts like pocket change.

How do normal people even afford a game there? Are most all but the worst seats owned by companies given out to rotating employees as perks? It’s a struggle just to afford taking a couple of guests or kids to a game in our puny KC market any more.

We finally made it up to see the core 4 players one last time back in Sept and (granted had pretty good seats but) pretty sure with tickets, food, and parking we were close to $300 for just the 2 of us. o_O

My Giants are stealing all the franchisers. Will be weird to see Cutch and Longo in orange and black. Not a huge fan of bringing in these aging stars.

What? Don't like veterans like Pat Burrel, Cody Ross, Aubrey Huff, Marco Scutaro, Juan Uribe, Michael Morse, Edgar Rentaria, Travis Ishikawa? In most cases the slowing of a player from age is too costly but occasionally the hunger for a title makes up for it and more. Plus, some guys just go off when you need them. I think they need some hungry players on the team.

Yup, turns down a 7 year deal to stay in KC for $147M for an 8 year deal for $144M out west. Padre contract is more front loaded with an option after 5.

After Cain's strike 1 exit, strike 2 with Hosmer's exit and, since Cain and Hosmer are gone, they are not going to bother trying to keep Moustakas either . . . strike 3!

Not to fret, with our market, we'll be good again in another 30 years . . . too bad I'll be dead before then!

Truthfully, we are used to this. You cannot be a Royals Fan without . . . well better put would be . . . this is being a Royals Fan.

Weird, Hosmer gets $144M, 8 year, and Moustakas is still unsigned looking for just a one year deal, somewhere? Now, at third, I wouldn't offer a 29 year old an 8 year deal either but no one even wants him? Unfortunately, the way the Royals have restructured, I am not sure they could work him into a one year deal back with them at this point.

Plus, I like our new core. It could be solid again in a few years, let's hope not 30?
