Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    Nice Job, best gen!

Very cool mad props to @Box Rocket for teaching your sons some skills. I have always appreciated that my dad taught me how to turn a wrench at a young age. Its something now as I am older I look back on and smile. I believe these quality traits get lost with todays technology. Much love for the Hi lux and subd most definitely.

This right here. I lost my pops when I was barely into my 20s. I am thankful every day I wasn’t a stupid ass teenager and actually paid attention to that man when he was teaching me things.

@Box Rocket strong work by you and your son. Been watching since the beginning and this my friend is good stuff

Nothin but good going on here.............if you ever make it thru Houston, TX for any reason, I have a pile of parts from my 82 in the attic you can have. Including brand new and used stuff. I have RV cam/ss springs and titanium retainers for 22R and many other things that could be of use for the son's rig. Drove that truck for 27 yrs over 600,000 miles until 2nd gen time in 2009. Loved every minute of it. Best thread I've seen in awhile.........still miss that truck.

Nothing too exciting but I grabbed this yesterday as my boys were headed to school. They've been driving it pretty regularly. We're shopping for a 5VZ to swap into it, possibly even a 2UZ if I can find a good deal. There's still a list of stuff we want to do with it but my son is paying for mods now so it's a bit slower going. ;)

A few more minor updates. My son, Bjornn, has been learning a lot on this truck. He's learning to weld as well as fix crap on the truck. His first real welding project was a spare tire mount for the bed of the truck. Basic design but nice and solid.

After a full axle rebuild and new brakes. Installed these 14" travel Doestch Tech shocks using Ford towers that had to go through the top of the fender a bit.

Also never posted any decent photos of the completed bumper. Pretty stoked about his this came out for a homebuilt bumper that feels like it "fits" the style of the truck.

No doors but weather seals and registers for non-vent window doors. Short interior door panel that leaves metal of bottom of door exposed, window cranks, door handles, door lock plastic nubs/trim maybe in black but thinking dark blue, etc etc etc maybe another grill like you have off 4wd 83. I have a complete 81 front bumper (1 piece that doesn't use end caps) and mounts and painted, not chrome so that could become your body color. Just all kinds of odd stuff. New brake hardware and cylinder kits but not thinking those will be of use since your rear end is different. I'd be willing to box up some of whatever might be of use..........since cool build and dad action.

No real updates to speak of. We did change the front shackles. We were using some greasable stock height shackles but they were hitting the frame where they had a bend. We swapped them out for some slightly taller TG shackles that are flat plates with spacers. These are much better now with no frame contact. Didn't change lift height too much but we are looking at maybe pulling a leaf out of the front to soften it up a little.
[IMG]IMG_3545 by Adam Tolman, on Flickr

On a less positive note, my son had a bit of a mindless moment when he picked up a friend and was backing out of his driveway before the friend closed his door. The door caught their brick mailbox and jacked the door. This is in a difficult spot to fix but we might try. We are also trying to pick up two other sets of doors from a local guy. If we get them, one set will replace the current ones and fix this damage and the other set will be used to make some half doors.

In the meantime since the weather is good, my son just pulled the doors off. :)

Thanks for those memories! My first was an '84 Toyota. I took the doors off and my Dad wasn't so happy. We still laugh about it now. I had a '79 and a few from the 80's. Those were some of my favorite vehicles!

I do not have grill emblem, side mirrors or inclinometer...........Gauge cluster, plug wires, t-case mount & battery hold down we could call $10 + shipping..........AC compressor would just check to see what shipping would be, has been sealed off to keep crap out of it since storage. $10 + shipping and I'll throw in an easter egg or 2...............will provide fresh pics of whatever. Mostly just want whatever can be used to get used and out of the attic.

Alrighty then.......did not find the box with AC compressor and tranny mount and other heavier items. Didn't find the gauges either but it was super freakin hot up there, didn't have flashlight so I'll look again. Haven't given up because I do not remember getting rid of or selling those items. Probably didn't put heavier stuff in attic. I did find the side mirrors tho if you still want those and also the NGK coil/plug wires the are all there and brand new and surprise.....the inclinometer was still there too. Also found a tinted sliding window I forgot was up there and also have tinted solid rr window as well, both have the seals. Here's pic of all the small stuff...........
